
I haven't had time lately to finish anything new, so thought I'd post another round of fan art from 1982.
Around that time, Ken Fletcher (Heywulf!) was publishing tiny fanzines called Spare Pirates. I think there were three issues... just enough to inspire me to do this illo of Space Pirate bubble-gum cards, but not enough to actually publish them. I found some other use, later, but it was a shame that they were never used in their intended context.
The broken pieces are that kind of glass like bubble-gum that usually came with cards. It would shatter in your mouth until the shards were small enough to absorb a little moisture, then only gradually turn into chewable gum.
