Kyle D'amora recently commissioned me to paint a picture of him and his friend, Christy Kitsune in a happy, casual setting. We decided on a picnic scene in a beautiful city park, so I went ahead and did a few concept sketches.
The one that stood out to me was a wide angle sketch with the characters as a focus and the environment as a backdrop. Once that was decided on, I started painting in grayscale, then added in the color later on.
With some curve adjustements and overlays, this was the final result. : )
