
Another year come and gone, here's one last story to wrap this up. This was a gift for
brycemorningstar as part of
TF_Stories_and_More's gift exchange. I decided to go with making them an escape room themed game.

I want to say hunger, but it didn't work. It needs three times of the day, (breakfast, lunch, dinner), and has two sisters in either thirst and the need to sleep, or water and shelter as things necessary to function as a living thing.
So, alright. I try a different one. The one about something that reigned and people think as a myth, but it's lineage still reigns. I try "the past", "history", "cats" (I've watched a bit too much of the mummy), nothing.

The first one has a static solution, so once I figured it out, it's the same every time. Second is just a matter of calculation, third is where I always get stuck; it's a different riddle every time and I can't solve any of them. Like I said, unless I've already heard the riddle before and already know the answer, it's never something I can reason out.
Not sure what determines what transformation you get if you fail; I thought it was what riddle you failed at, but I failed on purpose a couple times on different stages to experiment, and so far almost always get the unicorn ending, though got the sphinx once. I'm beginning to suspect it's just random and for some reason luck of the draw has just given me unicorn every time.

Depends on what you mean by "rewarding" I guess lol. The object of the game is to avoid being transformed, but... I never play tf games to avoid getting transformed lol, what fun is that? I suspect I'm not the only one with that mindset who plays these things.
I mean, I found out the end was better when it was "lost" than when we "win".
By that I mean doing a perfect run doesn't sound like it was something. The text feels like "oh you did a perfect run, ok whatever" to me. While the description for game overs are way better xD

Nice game, pity nothing like that ever happened during my escape room visits ^^
Chest and dials were pretty straightforward to solve, though I got stuck on some of the riddles (got them solved after some research)
I liked the gradual change of both one's physical features and one's mind, almost expecting that to somewhat coincide with the riddle's solution but there seem to be more different riddles than TFs.

Sorry, but I have honestly absolutely no clue how to work through the number dial puzzle. This may be because I suffer from dyscalculia, or maybe I'm just completely missing the logic here, but I can't for the life of me make sense of the dials. Some help would be greatly appreciated. :)
Anthro from what I read. I messed up a few times on the rock puzzle and the map puzzle (idk how i messed up the map one, I think i just got confused and hit the wrong direction lol)
The game was fun for a while, hope you can make a sequel, and hope it is more open. I thought there would be more after opening the door, like it w3as just the start of a Cyoa

Well, the game was intended to end with leaving the room from the beginning. I wouldn't have had time to do that anyways I'm not really sure what there would really be to do after opening the door. With the amount of possible forms the number of ways it could breach would be a tremendous amount of work.
Finally got around to playing this, and I got (un)lucky with my first go...turned out the riddle I got just so happened to be related to a subject I had been thinking about extensively anyways...Got out without any TF...sadly. But I gave it another replay to ensure I got the chance to see what I missed out on... and found that the other riddles did not come nearly as easily to me, if you have the answer already on the mind, then all the ambiguous components and logical abstractions you would otherwise fall into are easily glazed over and the riddle seems trivial. Quite fun to play, all in all it reminds me of a particular escape room in a box dealing with werewolves.
Well, actually...I haven't tried it directly, I merely read the description and let my minds eye immagine the fun, ".....a most cunning trap. You opened a letter and released a poisonous vapor that will transform you and your friends into werewolves IF you can’t open the antidote jar in time." Turns out that advertizing that failure will end in TF is a good marketing strategy, since after re reading that this morning and finding they were back in print I couldn't resist and just picked up a copy from their online store for about 30$...I'll have to get back to you on how it is after I find some folks to play it...might be awhile...but I have my doubts they will be able to match the dedication to transformation that the folks at BreakFree pour into their rooms...
If BreakFree went around advertizing like that, although sales would be up they might find folks waiting around in the rooms before completing them. To that end, it's probably best that it is a hidden treasure to be found in your local area....Then again, after folks start passing by and seeing the obligatory escape room completion pic's they might get all sorts of free viral advertising.

It seems to be tied to mythology and religion as the "god's servant" suggests, "a stirrer of chaos" can be playful or a trickster. "Yet of the mundane" would imply that it is no god itself. The first part is rather confusing though, "digits" can be fingers/toes or numbers, but it doesn't make much sense either way, or does it?

Umm....I suck at math :\ I just want to see what the last of the 3 transformations is like... Ill leave it open so I have the answer if you will give me some help since I know its unique each round. I currently have 1699 but counting that would be a hell of a pain to do and I don't know of any method of using a calculator to figure it out either :\
So for this puzzle, the first dial will be at "0" if the number is a multiple of 5. 1699 is not a multiple of 5 but 1695 is. 1699 is 4 more than 1699 so the first dial is at "4". You can apply the same principle for the second dial but using multiples of 8 instead of 5. so 1699 is not a multiple of 8 but 1696 is. so the second dial would be at "3".

tried agin even showed to 3 more people no one gets it XD so congrats its stumped some people even with your hint one said spinx for some reason one said king one said vulpina agathion no one knows but when i told them iw as doing this for a furry transformation puzzles game they flat told me this "i wouldnt put this much thought into a game about wrighten transformation when theres pics insted" my response was "because i wona know the answer to the damn riddle i dont even care about the tf any more" thin i directed one tothe game and they dled it played alittle got tot the number thing i herd them say nope and they stoped playing XD

I found myself transformed into a dragon on my first playthrough. When I had a little more time I sat down to play longer and found my way through.
The notch part seemed like it was going to be tricky at first, but I found a decent way of solving it with some division. After completing it I escaped a bit cattier than I entered : p

The riddles were really tricky,* but that was a fun one. ^_^ The frustration, mirror, and exit responses at various stages were a lot of fun and very flavorful. Great job getting this thing together! I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for any others you make.
I may have one super-minor suggestion to offer. I had to reset a ton to see the last transformation: it was starting to get a little frustrating, particularly since (unless my eyes glazed past), there doesn't seem to be any clue which one you've got until it starts. I'm guessing which one you get is equally weighted? I get the sinking suspicion it may be more trouble than it's worth (or create new unforeseen problems), but could it be worth considering some slight re-weighting of the odds based on... hmm, maybe the relative percentages of each TF's scenes a player's already seen across all playthroughs? (e.g. if someone's seen multiple exits, mirrors, and the game over for one shape, and none for either of the others, the other two become more likely to come up when resetting)
* I'll admit, hints/answers in these Comments are the only way I got through 3/4 of them. I'm not surprised, having never been very good at them. I did like the logic for most of them once I knew the answer, though, which I feel is one mark of a good, fair riddle. I'm glad you had fun with it! It was nice, if quite a bit of work, to figure out how each ending would play out depending on how much you had transformed.
That is a pretty good suggestion, the problem is that depending on how the player resets the game that might be impossible to track. If I made a 'New Game' button it would be easy to track how many times a player has seen a given transformation. However, if they were to click the 'Reload' button on the side bar or were to refresh the game than there wouldn't be a way for me to track that.

I can believe it. I didn't count, but there were a healthy number of possible scenes down each species' path; multiplying that by 3 (plus the few fully human others) would add up.

I didn't really understand the puzzle of the dials, so I just did trial and error.

ps:Mainly, because I don't understand what "moves" the first dial and the second dial. If it moves the hands of a clock, a "disc" and what "moves" the two dials or "how" they move.
For example, in some games "moving" a "lever" moves the middle ring and the two adjacent numbers and the second lever moves the first number and the "number" to its right.

The dials are ones that would be moved by hand, like the dial on a stove or a stereo, that's all the movement that they do. When you turn the dial on a stove the numbers don't move, only which number is being pointed at.

You're not forming a four digit number. It's asking if you were to individually rotate each dial that many notches clockwise.
For example
