Model of the "Alte Brücke"-"old bridge" as it appeared in the 19th century. The bridge was for centuries the main reason of Frankfurts weaths and importance, as it was for many miles the only way to to cross the main river on dry foot and as some of the main roads of Europe crossed (and still cross) here.
