I've loved Star Trek for a long, long time.

Sweet. Yeah, when I first saw it, I absolutely fell in love. The ships were always so unique and interesting. The Excelsior class is one of my favourites too, at that, so elegant and versatile. I'm glad that in the Prime time-line, that class of ship was still in service 90+ years on. I have to say the least favourite of the lot for me was the Galaxy Class; the proportions were all.... squished and weird.
Very neat little trip down memory lane though - and it's cool to look back on what first tickled your muse into churning out the amazing stuff we've seen over the years from ya. :)

Yeah, some of them got pretty interesting near the end of the Voyager-era shows. Defiant though.... ehh... I dunno, I always thought that was one of the more lump-class ship designs - just nothing much to it. I'm not much of a fan of the new movies or new shows though - the ships now are too over-done for detail.
Did you ever design any of your own Star Fleet ship classes? I have designed many of my own over the years. This is just one example.

My sister and I used to like to draw Star Trek ships when we were kids. The Reliant from Wrath of Khan was a favorite of mine. We designed our own, essentially a Nebula class with a single large nacelle underneath instead of the secondary hull, so as to be shaped vaguely like a toilet. We called it the U.S.S. Onthejon, because we had mature senses of humor for children our age. It was captained by a man by the name of Jacques Strap.
I don't know what happened to the pictures, but I'm sure my mom saved them, since she saved everything we made.
