I got an anon a while back on Tumblr who requested a sketch of Cuvier during his TF sequence, or after it.
I enjoyed this thoroughly.
TBH I have no idea where to even begin tagging species on this monstrous beauty... LMAO

Oh I missed that this was posted here. Gloriously twisted amalgamation; I love that you even depicted the eyes that seem to grow in and shut within the span of one shot, as though he was still mutating.
What made you choose to go with "unbound" for the title? I would have thought he was more restrained, trapped within that ruined mass of flesh.

The excess of being completely unrestrained was his downfall, in my eyes. Restraint limits, controls, focuses, refines--and he was near-completely unchained in the taxidermist's. The mutations weren't hand-picked by him, nor finely-tuned to harness the abilities, anatomy, or strength he'd intend from them. Drowning in flesh, and likely several dozen simultaneous and discordant instincts. Let alone being forced to acclimate in real time to the changes-upon-changes, and I doubt he could have entirely predicted any of the features that transpired, or their chronology or severity. Very much the archetypal Pride downfall, to me. There were Wrath elements to his lore, but these premeditated his intended ascension to literal posthuman godhead. (Sorry for meandering. I get carried away too often. :u)
Glad you enjoy the eyes as well. They, and the teeth, are my favorite parts. When I was sketching to feel out the anatomy, I felt out the dynamics of his skull getting locked into his right shoulder while the mutations continued pumping forward-facing features into the left side of his face to compensate. Satisfying, that the "blink and you'll miss it" aspect of having done it like that translates visually.

That description of what happened to his shoulder and skull... oof. I've always loved how the changes became so warped and disorganized that his beak ended up as that flesh bulb hanging off the side of his head, so I simply have to ask what it is that intrigues you about his teeth! They've always seemed to me like the most... interestingly and intensely uncomfortable part of this form; I can't imagine Cuvier much enjoyed the feeling of his perfect chimera-form fangs distorting into those. Not to mention how raw they would have felt after the changes completed - perhaps up there with the parts of his anatomy that made themselves known by bursting out of his flesh in terms of how alien they might have seemed to him.
And no worries. The ruination of Cuvier's so-prided body this depicts is absolutely tantalizing. Maybe even enviable.
