That is a good point. God DOES say in the Old Testament that being gay is bad (man may not layeth with another man and all that) But when Jesus died, the New testament rules apply now. Aside from the ten commandments, that's a given. And in the new testament, it never says anything like man may not layeth with another man, etc. just no to male prostitution.

So it's saying being gay is okay, as long as your relationships aren't just about sex. Which, gay or straight, a lasting relationship SHOULDN'T be about the sex. ^^;

On a rather unique note, in the original language the bible was written in, the word for "homosexual" or "gay" didn't exist. EVER. There was a crapload of man-on-man-whoring, yeah, but no word for it. Kinda weird, right?

It does refer to it as "man layeth with another man" and whatnot, sure, but I have yet to find a translation of the new testament that two people of the same gender having sex, outside of for the sake of sex, being a sin. Is says male prostitution is a sin in the new testament under 1 Corinthians 16:9, I think, but no mention of "fucketh one of the same gender and fire and brimstone await you" or whatever.

lol i like the "parties offended" part that couldnt be more true. I am a non-denominational Christian and I find that these people aren't taking a stand for God, but rather desecrating his holy name. My opinion is that Fred Phelps has brainwashed his "church" into believing that they are doing God's work, but really they are carrying out his hatred of a minority gruop using the name of God to justify it. If they really wanted to do work for God, they would have actually READ THE BIBLE! This rediculous farce of a "church" gives real honest Christians, like myself, a bad name. If you really think about it, they could have thier ideals compared to Hitler's Nazi Germany, Stalin's Soviet Union, and Osama's Al-Quida.

I'm a Christian myself, and very deeply so. If you can find a copy of the Bible, read 1 Corinthians chapter 13 and see how Christians are *supposed* to behave. These people have *never* been Christian in any sense of the term.

Doesn't take a Bible scholar to see that, honestly. I don't really care what you worship or think, as long as you're not being a dick to people. Your holy book or whatever says your religion is the one true religion and anyone who thinks otherwise is gonna burn forever when they die, hey, that's great. Exactly. To me, the greatest command is to love people, and the first part of the definition of it in that chapter is to be patient and kind. Should speak volumes about how we're supposed to behave.
