They totaled your car over that amount of damage? v.v Is there side damage that just can't be seen through the fence, or is it just the front end damage there? I mean, if it's just front end, you're talking maybe $800 for pick-and-pull bumper/fender/lens body for the headlight. More for OEM black and a repaint.
Glad to hear you're ok though. That's a hell of a scare to go through.

No, I totaled in the accident. I couldn't get a good shot of the car from outside the impound yard, but it's pretty smashed up in the front and rear end, the sides, and even the top. The windshield is busted up from me hittin' my head on it and the inside is covered in crude oil. Even the appraiser from my insurance company said it was a total loss. Now they just wanna give me $415 out of it
Thank you. Freakier still, I was passed out when I crashed. God was watchin' out for me that night.

Indeed he was. I really am sorry to hear about the car, the fight and the accident. You being passed out was actually a blessing, and I mean that. Personal observations of mine (I review fatal/DUI accident cases as part of my job) show that during a fatal crash, passengers that are properly belted and either sleeping or inattentive are more likely to survive with less injuries. This is due to the fact that you don't have the presence to tense your muscles to brace for an impact. More loose = less injuries.
I spy a California plate. Have you gone about getting your restricted license and what not (assuming they even booked you for DUI and did a blood test).

Thank you. That's what I heard to. I had my seatbelt on, but somehow, I wound up in the passenger seat.
Actually, I was charged with nothing. Not even a citation. According to the police report, they ruled the cause accident due to traveling at an unsafe speed. Dad told the CHP officer the whole story, even telling him I'm not an alcoholic and the officer just looked at it as I've been through enough.

Well, thank goodness for that as well. After going through all of that, dealing with legal wrangling connected to a DUI would just add insult to the injury of all that occurred. Just make sure that you take it easy and regardless of the outcome of the car that you take care of yourself. A lot of times with my contacts, their first reaction is with the swirling of everything else that is going on in their lives after an event such as this one, and that's where one tends to lose touch with reality.
If you don't turn inward in moments like this, you tend to lose the most important possession that you have after an accident or serious event, yourself. Reflection and even a little spoiling of yourself might be good right now, even if it's something as inexpensive as a milkshake or a cheap game for a game system; anything to take your mind off of the events for a few moments so your subconscious can sort through the crap and leave you able to move forward.
Iff'n you need anything, you be sure to let me know, ya hear?
