OK SO, he's a Jackal called Jack, full name Jack Adustus Cain. He's a bit of a wild one, was asked to take care of things while a certain Jackal god was off taking care of business, and he ended up causing a big mess. Something that gets his power hungry ass sentenced to repent by serving mortals in numerous mundane ways over the years. Unfortunately for him he is very short tempered and keeps losing it one way or another and the consequences of such outbursts end up adding more time to his sentence.

So the poor boy just wants to get back and join the power plays of the gods but is stuck working in a shitty little coffee shop in a frustrating modern world. But hey, at least he can make himself a good cup of coffee and enjoy punishing some truly awful mortals.

tl;dr: Servant of the gods forced to work in a coffee shop and he's not a happy boy about it.
