You already know a thing or two about Shelby, so in this post I'll just shed some light on her humble beginnings.
Shelby is what's scientifically recognized as a Turtleshell Armolin and came from Japan. She first arrived in Sector 1404 back in 1995 and whilst Vincent was getting her accustomed to her new life, he noted her acute interest in the several guitars decorating his office home. She had never played any musical instruments before at that time, so when she picked up a bass guitar, Vincent sat down with her and showed her a thing or two... y'know, just to fan any spark of a flame that may have been there. To his surprise, Shelby seemed to understand the fundamentals perfectly and almost instantly she was repeating simple bass grooves with all the correct finger placements. Playing the bass couldn't possibly be any more natural than it already was for her.
By the turn of 1996, Vincent got her onstage during the Monster Mammoth Jam and the crowd absolutely loved her. I remember the band and myself watching her from backstage and just going, ''Who's thaaattt??'' We hadn't seen a woman groove the way Shelby did... ever.
The bass you see her holding in this piece is a Carl Thompson, gifted to her by Vincent after the MMJ packed up. He let her keep it after the performance. Its the same bass she first picked up in his office that fateful day, and the very same one she would continue to extensively use till today. Evergreen was only 2 years old when we welcomed her aboard. She's been a solid member since.

I completely adore Shelby's design. The light green color of her skin gives her a nice description of her lively-sounding personality, while the rest of the colors blend in like a stick bug in a beaver's dam. (I apologize if that sounds a bit weird...) She also seems like she would be somewhat difficult to color and shade according to her many patterns and smaller details, as well as posing with a very-detailed looking instrument; this alone shows me that you always take so much time to put the perfect amount of effort in these pieces. Her personality also makes her sound quite pleasant to be around, whether on or off the stage. With how she looks and acts, it's no surprise to me that so many people love her. Heck, if I could, I would give her a hug to both congratulate her for how far she's come and just because she looks so lovely overall. I would love to see more of her around, if she's willing to give some of her time for a quick cameo~
The way you comment gives off a sense that all this is an ongoing comic or TV show and I honestly love it. You understand that my creations are alive in their own universe and how much that means to me. If you like, you can hit me up on Telegram, Discord, or Steam. I think you and I will enjoy a nice, long chat. You'll find my contact details on the front page of my profile.
I would love to! However, I only have the capabilities of using Steam, and I haven't used it in a while, plus I don't think I've used the message system before on it. If there comes a time when I do end up figuring out how it works again, I'll try and get myself into a session of our own. For now, however, I'll stick to showing my love for these lovely pieces~ (That last part probably sounded a bit weird...)
