Cool concept!

Sounds a bit like an idea I had for an unreleased RPG, many years ago. In one 'Guardian tower' that had succumb to evil forces, there were these portal paintings that appeared upon the many walls around the spiral staircase. Acting like fly paper, any living 'heroes' (or other warm bodies) might become stuck to them under 'surprise vacuum attacks'. If the attack goes unhindered, the victim would be doomed to slowly fall into a two dimensional form as the evil pulled the body from it's protective constructs,
(Armor/helmets/swords/basically any cloth.) leaving only the entombed form on display, helpless and most likely un-savable. (Although, quite open to critique.)

I would fall for that immediately. Every time I play D&D I just attack everyone else and set off every trap. I get off on it a little bit though so y'know

This sounds like a lot of fun to me!! ERR... I mean evvvviil, for sure!

I'm more partial to having to trek through the realm of Eden, where the guardians have grown to hate the very sight of Humans. (Thanks to aggressive hunting practices against creatures who know not how to fear.) Requiring the heroic team to shed every ounce of weapons, armor and Humanity by donning specialized animal skins to even hope to survive as they journey to the monster's underworld realm. Only the Goddess Guardians aren't so easily fooled and enrich the attempt by taking that fur deep transformation...all the way. (It resolves itself as these pacifists are few in number and despite having magic, can't possibly wage an invasion war on two fronts between the dark monsters and the totally random Human realm.)
