So I decided to boot up GIMP and draw something with it for once! And so I did, after choosing which character to draw that is.
And ended up with Mandy, one of my oldest little anthros.

Overall drawing wise, I think the pose is little stiff but I'm otherwise quite happy with this.

Full name; Mandy Vilvaight
Nickname; Mandy the Mantis
Specie; Mutated Mantis
Gender; Female

Age: 19.

Skills / Abilities / Powers;

Light force. A sub light magical energy, which she uses for her attacks. Basicly forming it for blasts, beams and the usual stuff.
It ain't really a strong energy or anything though, however it can cause burns and pack up some bunches from the distance.
It also hurts dark magic / energy users more then usual. Not as effective on close range however.

Flight. She has wings for a reason.

Mantis strike. Though she lacks the mantis like scytches due of her little mutation, she can mimic a similar attack of a scytche slash with her powers and fighting skills combined and temporary boot up scytches from her hands, however due of a few complications she doesn't use this often.

Close combat. Mandy is specialized on her close combat abilities, her kicks and punches will break a few bones on the un prepared.


Weaknesses; Mandy can get arrogant / over confident bit too easily, which leaves her open for errors. She also lacks on her defensive skills little less then agressives. Due of her bug like nature, getting wounded is rather dangerous for her, though it doesnt mean any small cut would kill her, it just means that she can "bleed out" slightly easier. She also has the lightweigth weakness but due of her wings and good balance, it doesnt effect her as much.

Aligtment; Neutral - Good.

Likes and dislikes; She likes training and fighting, but it doesn't mean she'd be constantly looking for fights. She dislikes getting pushed around or getting limited.

Jobs, Education and the type; Mandy has an avarage education, but not academic or otherwise advanced schoolings. She's slightly less intrested in science and the type due of her sporty and fighter nature. She has skills on the massage therapy however, as she has worked as a part time job with her friend Shussei on the area.

Personality; Mandy is a bit of action and peace type at the same time. She likes fighting and all that, but then again she likes peace and quietness on the same time, rather mix maxed and hard as it is. She's usualy slightly arrogant, but she still keeps trying to be nice and sporting and doesn't really seem to do anything bad anytime. Her personality however takes a turn from the nice and sporting when she enters a fight. In a fight situation or otherwise unpleasent situation she turns rather more on the anoying side and more arrogant.


Backstory;
She was born in a little town near a woodlandy area, a town that was rather popular with insect like people. Unfortunantly for her, her mom died during the birth and she was raised by her father. Now, her father wasn't really the best parent when it came to take care for her, and due of her father beeing a fighter himself, it was quite of a struggle for both of them on her childhood. Instead of really learning how to become more lady like, she was more of a tomboy.
Learning how to fight from her father and still studying rather normally, she grew up to be pretty much the toughest of the hood, which ofcourse pumped her ego a lot, yet her father wasn't too proud of this and started to limit her. Her teen years weren't really the greatest due of this, and once she was done with the regular school, she started to wonder what it'd be like outside this town.

Mandy decided to want to start traveling around and start training by herself and asked her father she can move out when she was 16. Father felt rather insulted from this as it made him feel like he just wasted good effort on growing her and then basicly decided to throw her out. So as Mandy literally flied out, it pretty much nailed that decision. Cursing and walking out of the town, she started to wonder off by herself, living mostly by taking part on different fighting related activities and camping around.

On her travels, Mandy ended up in the City of Bitbroot where she ran into this weird girl called Shussei and made friends with her. Shussei beeing rather peacefull fellow, and Mandy started to feel like needing a place to stay at for good, Shussei offered her a place near the beach if she helped her with her massage place. Mandy spend a few years in here, but as it started to take her time off from training and all that, she decided to start travelling by herself again, though Shussei agreed to keep the deal up whenever she needed a place to stay at.
