A nice piece of artwork of my story "Interspecies Relationship Support Network: Tri-Burrows Chapter." This is three original characters who are somewhat on the periphery but are notable for having an important place in the community as the employees in the big general store in "downtown" Bunnyburrow.
In the center the level-headed and notably respectable proprietor of Weaselton's Wares, Meister Weaselton. Widower, hard worker, natty dresser and occasionally known for cheating at cards. But beside that, he's a generally a well-liked member of the community. A serious-minded least weasel who takes great pains to try and raise his daughter right.
Over on the left, the sole regular, non-family employee, Jake Hopps. He's one of approximately Judy's generation and has taken outside work during slow times at the farm. Dedicated, quick and slightly too interested in being the best employee. It makes him twitchy but dedicated to his job. By all appearances and accounts he really loves working for Meister.
On the right, Meister's only child, his lovely, willful jill Princess. Appearances can be deceiving, as they sway. She's not in a uniform, she has flashy shoes and a phone to her head. But she's probably calling up distributors, and is out in front by request. Normally she's wrapped up in paperwork in the back, keeping the store she's going to own one day running smooth, and leaning the nuts and bolts side of the business from her father. She may exasperate him sometimes, and she may almost exclusively call Jake Cookies-And-Cream, but there's no more dedicated worker out there.
This was a commission from
bluanubiz who must be some variety of superheroine because they were finished in so short a time, even with work hassling them, it's astounding. Truly, they are amazing.

But she keeps getting his name wrong; that's like someone being introduced as Mr. Trump and being called 'Bump' because... wow who's ever heard that weird 'Trump' name before. That suggests Judy has NO idea about the name, you'd expect a bit of her mind to go 'Oh, Weaselton, like those guys at the store.'
Unless she just hates weasels that much. She DOES refer to Duke as 'The weasel' when he arrests him and looks positively gleeful watching him about to be murdered in one of the most illegal acts a cop can commit.
My guess then is that Judy's an anti-weasel bigot; she takes delight in causing the vermin suffering.
But this is a very nice piece, I should hope Jake has a better character.

Actually, I know very well how to pronounce Trump. But I still call him Drumpf, probably form the same reason she does.
My personal theory is amplification.she overdosed on her father's disdain, not really realizing he was just stretching to the limits his rural unsophistication allowed. She parrots these things without realizing, like a bumbling yokel who keeps talking about "the coloreds" because that's all they ever knew. Out of their personal context they look like monsters. In their personal context they look like unsophisticated hicks.
