Excellent background color tone and color layering. I really like and am awed by the little details you put into the piece (the nick knacks, etc.) Nice to see a salamander too. I bet that Gaurdsman is feeling like a million bucks.

I admit i mostly added him in for size reference. But yeah, he suddenly became a much smaller priority target for the enemy.

For some reason I could see the similarities between these 2 and the Draghi/ Elf comics

I guess it's the fact that it's one big character and one small character. But in truth it was not intentional to make any similarities with my normal comics.

Oh it's mostly due to their faces, well face and eyes specifically for the salamander and the shape of the face for the guardsman.

I guess it could also have to do with the fact that I am not good at depicting diversity in human faces since i usually only draw 1 character. SO i can understand that they all tend to look alike.

Love it! Great Imperial Guard and Space Marine, you do armour really well!

It was fun to do, admitedly because there is such a wealth of refference to draw on.

I admitedly got boored when it came to the background...

To be fair with all that detail on the characters I can hardly blame you! Though the Space Marine of the Salamanders looks super impressive!

I must ask, if you do commissions and if so...perhaps might be open to doing something similar with a character of mine? if this is not the place to ask and would prefer to take this to notes I would understand!

hmmm, i mostly do YCH commissions. I can't guarantee i can nail a concept i am told about so I prefer to only work on an existing sketch. But what did you ahve in mind?

I understand! And certainly would not ever wish to impose - but my character is mostly cybernetic, wears armour, not too dissimilar to a Space Marine - so essentially would be my character (A Dragon) macro, with wearing a set of Power Armour of the Grey Knights - as a rough concept!

Well, like I said, i only work off of YCHs. If I come up with a scene that fits this description, I'll let you know and we can discuss it from there.

these are my favorite chapter from 40K cause they actually give a damn aout the humans they are meant to protect. Probably them ost humane of the space marines.

My second favorite being the Blood ravens.

I am actually quite a big fan of the lore, but had very limited contact with the gaming part of it... I did love Dawn of war 2 though.

If you haven't checked it out yet I'd recommend the YouTube series If the Emperor had a text to speech device. It take the lore and puts a more humorous spin on it

Nice too see another artist who understands scaling in 40k. Those space Marines are GIANTS. In between 7 and a half to 9 feet tall.
They put normal mortal soldiers to shame.

Indeed, they are supposed to be an imposing sight to normal humans ( with the primarchs putting the spacemarines to shame the same way they do to humans ).

Exactly. They are nigh Immortal demigods. Guardsmen are expected to kneel or stand at attention when an astares walkes by. Same as if a Primarch were to walk by.

in most wrightings normal humans are generally in awe when confronted by astartes and kneeling is compulsory when faced with primarchs as far as i understand it. Also goes to show, that your run of the mill guardsmen probably doesn't see astartes very often. In 40K at least they are supposed to be quite rare ( like 1 astartes for i dunno how many planets ?). I think they even mentioned ( possibly in one of the games ) how the guardsmen need to hold their own, because the astartes are just a myth, aren't real and definitely aren't coming to rescue them.

So in these circumstances I can see how your average human will be in awe of seeing like a 3 meter tall human built like a fridge ( and dressed in several other fridges/worth of armor, fiering automatic grenade launchers and wielding swords as combat knives ( plus all their other more fancier toys ) )
