Corbyn opened his eyes. It seems he was surrounded by the darkness.
"I must be dead... aren’t I?" he says to himself with a laugh of this is how his life would come to an end. But something got his attention as he suddenly felt he was able to stand on some invisible surface below him. He stood up and went over to the small light. He saw as it grew brighter as he came closer to it.
"You poor soul. How your light was burned out so suddenly, but yet I feel you still have the fire to live inside of you. It has been such a long time since I met such a bright soul. I wish to help you young one and give you a second chance." the calming voice said to him, as a bright flash happened and a rainbow like light started to fill the void, forming a door in front of Corbyn. "It’s up to you if you wish to have your second chance." it says.
He was unsure of what to believe, wondering if this was some kind of being that was trying to get his soul for their own doing or was it something more honest and this really was a second chance. He then decided to believe the voice as he reached his hand out to open the door. As he did so everything went bright and blinding.

Corbyn started coughing as wetness went down the side of his face. He was unsure of why he was so wet. His mind felt foggy, but also had a sharp pain on back of his head and he felt pressure on his chest. His version started to clear he saw it was a Vaporeon! She looked and was happy to see the person she was saving was not lost and hugged into his chest. It felt warm against his cold wet body, but he was still very tired and closed his eyes against the Pokémon.

Sometime later, Corbyn started to wake up in some kind of clinic, in a bed. He looks around then started to look to his body, which didn't look like his own! It was covered in snowy colored fur and also had paws at the end of the hands. But also seemed to have pair of breasts on the chest, which made Corbyn realize he wasn't a boy. She was also not fully naked at least. She had a pair of panties and a bra snuggly covering her body. She then sat up a bit and also saw she had six lovely tails behind her, above her butt. She reached up to the top of her head and felt her new ears and curly hair between her ears.
Somehow, she kept calm from all of this as if he was accepting it. It made her feel nice, like something she always wanted in the back of her mind.
An Audino walked in and looked surprised, but happy to see the new girl was now awake. "Oh! You’re awake! That’s good to see. You had quite the large bump on head from the point of impact when you fell into the pool."
The new Vulpix felt along the poof her head and found the wrapped bandages along her head.
"I see..." she says softly, lowering her paws to her sides and lays back on the bed. Small flashbacks of the accident crossing her mind, but she was too drained to really focus on it.
The Audino spoke up again. "If I may ask, I don’t think you are in the school’s registry. What is your name miss?" she says, holding a sheet in her hands.
"Oh it’s..." she paused herself from saying her old name, it would not make much sense and she needed to think of something very quick.”Tori Takata" she answers.
Audino nods. "Alright, thank you, Tori. We'll be sure to get this sorted as quickly as we can." she says as she leaves to let Tori rest.
She started to close her eyes to rest for just a little while.

The next day came, as someone new came into the room. It was a Chansey and she was holding a pair of clothes, a note and a card on top of the clothes as she placed it down.
"Here are some clothes for you, since you pretty much didn’t come in with anything on you. We also included your ID card. Be sure not to lose it. There’s also left a small note of your temporary living area, be sure to head there as soon as you’re ready." she says with a bow as she leaves the room to let Tori change.
She started to change into the t-shirt and shorts she was given and places her card into her pocket. She then started to head out of the patient room and out of the medic room since staff seemed busy dealing with other Pokémon.
As she left the room, it seemed to be around lunch hour which was lucky for her since she didn’t feel up to being around too much people, being a new student and all. As she followed the note to her room, she saw it had a card reader. As she pulled out her card and flashed it, the door clicks as it unlocked. She opened the door and headed inside the room. It looked quite nice and large for a dorm room. There was a bed to the left side of the room and a bunk bed on the other side of the room, but seem no one was around at the moment.
Then the door started to open as an Eevee and Vulpix came into the room and saw Tori standing there.
She gave a wave slowly. "Hello there..." she said, kind of nervously.
The Eevee seemed quite happy to see the newcomer. "Oh, hi there! It’s nice to see. You must be Tori. I’m Meteo and this is Fox." she said pointing to herself then to the Vulpix. Unlike Tori, Fox was a red-orange like color, with six separate, curled tail and brown color paws.
"It’s nice to meet you both. I’m honored to be roomed with you two!" Tori says with a nod.
Fox snickered a bit. "She’s quite formal!" she said. “And Look! She’s a Vulpix too! A snow one! How ‘cool’ is that? Get it, Meteo?” Fox laughs.
Meteo just then remembered something important. She came over and pulled a paper from her pocket.
"Tori, this is for you. It’s for the classes you have, but luckily enough, you’re in all the classes we have! So just follow us and you get used to the basics of how the day runs."
“Oh wow! That is really lucky.” Tori smiles.
“Fox and I are going to head out for little while. We have a little thing we like to do when we have free time. We are an Exploration Team called ‘Team Crystalpaw!’ We like to look for treasures around here and explorer mysterious places.”
We’re pros at it!" Fox says proudly.
"We sure are."Meteo agrees. “Maybe you’ll want to join us sometime Tori?”
“Sounds pretty fun, I’ll think about it.” Tori answers as they both left the room and left Tori by herself yet again.
She went to lie on her new bed. It felt nice and comfy as she started to read a book she saw on her bed. Perhaps it’s a gift from Meteo and Fox? The book started to explain some history between Pokémon of how about half of the population became anthromorphic and how most of them forgot how to use their inner abilities from adapting into the hybrid society that we all live in now.
As she finished her book, she realized she was reading for a long time as Meteo and Fox came back. They were covered in twigs and dirt.
"We’re back, Tori! I hope didn’t miss us too much." Fox calls out, as Tori tries to cover her snout as she started to laugh.
"You guys look like a mess!" she says.
"I guess we do." Meteo says rubbing the back of her head and laughs little bit as they both went to wash up.
Shortly after, Meteo started to cook a small meal for the three of them to enjoy. Once dinner was done, they started to crawl into bed and sleep and ended the first day of Tori new life.

The next day came as Tori was woken up by Meteo, giving her a small nudge to ready herself for her first day of school. Tori got up with a yawn, as she started to get ready and soon went out of the room with Meteo and Fox, following them to class. She kept close to them as she got a few looks from others, maybe because she was a new student.
Metro noticed this and slowed down a bit and wrap her arm around Tori. "Don’t worry about it. You will do fine around here, I promise." she said, with a kind smile, which calm down Tori's heart rate.
"Yeah, your right thanks." She says as they made it to class.

As they went inside, most of the students seemed to have gotten into class already, but the teacher seem to have not made it in yet. Tori saw the desk near Fox and Meteo and decided to have a seat beside them as they waited. After a short while, the classroom door opened and a well dressed Braixen came into the room.
"Hello class, I hope everyone is having a good morning. First, today, we have a new student, if you please Miss Tori. Could you stand for a moment and say hello to the class?" he asked.
Tori started to stand up and sigh softly. "Hello everyone... nice to meet you all... and I’m glad to be a part of this school." Tori sat back down as classes started up.
It wasn’t too bad and the rest of the classes flew by till it became the end.
Meteo and fox left to do their little thing and Tori went walking by herself around the school a bit.

Along the way, Tori found herself at a certain area. It was the school’s pool area. It gave her an uneasy feeling, but she decided to come inside and sat at the sidelines and watched the Vaporeon, Azumarill and Buizel as they did their swimming.
After a while, it was the Azumarail who would said something first. "Hello there, I noticed you were watching us from over here. I’m Celice. Nice to meet you, what is your name Miss Vulpix?" she asked.”
Tori sighed as she was asked the question, but decided to tell her. "I’m Tori, nice to meet you also."
Celice decided to take beside her to keep her company for a short while, and then the Buizel came over.
"Hmm? Who is your new friend there Celice? She looking a tad uneasy." she asked.
Celice looked to the Buizel. "Her name is Tori, I’m sure she has a reason for feeling uneasy Lucy." she says back, as the Vaporeon came over now and saw the snowy Vulpix.
"Oh! It’s you! I’m glad you are safe." she exclaimed. "This is the Pokémon I found in the pool. She must have fallen in and hit her head on the shallow part since she had quite the head injury. But I’m glad she is looking well today!" she says happily as her tail wagged side to side slowly.
"Ah, that would explain it of why Snowy is feeling quite uneasy. Maybe she can’t swim Jessica?" says Lucy.
"Hmm... that would explain it maybe..." Jessica said.
"Umm Snowy?" Tori said with a flick of her ears.
"Yeah, that what your nickname going to be from yours truly." Lucy said proudly.
"I’m not some pet you know." Tori says as the rest started to laugh from the response from the Vulpix, but Tori couldn't help but laugh also. The four of them have a talk after the three of them left to get dressed out of their swimwear. It made Tori feel more at ease being with others and talking with new friends.
As they were going, Tori and Jessica were the last two to leave.
"Hey Tori, I need to ask you something." Jessica asks.
"What is it, Jessica?"
"If you really can’t swim, I’ll be more than happy to give you personal lessons." she says.
Tori held her arms and rubbed it nervously. "That might be nice, but I feel I have more of a fear of the deep water then not knowing how to swim."
"Ah, I see. Well, I’ll be willing to help you overcome that fear if you want to also." Jessica says.
Tori nodded. "Sure! I might like that." she says happily as they both left the area and went to their rooms for the evening.

The next day, after classes were done, Tori started to head over to the pool area as no one was really there today, only Jessica as if she seem to be expecting Tori would arrive. She had a bag with her.
"Hello Tori! I’m glad you made it back here. Ready for your lessons?" she asked.
"But I don’t have any swimming wear." Tori replied.
Jessica just laughed and gave her the bag. Tori looked inside.
Inside the bag was swimwear clothing for her.
"You didn’t have to." Tori says.
"But I wanted to, so go on and get dressed. I’ll be waiting." Jessica says as she pushes Tori into the dressing room and waited outside for her.
After a short bit, Tori came back out in her swimming attire, as it fitted her quite surprisingly well.
They both go into the pool from the shallow side as they both started to slowly walk deeper into the water until they both stop about chest high.
Jessica went in front and held Tori's hands. "Now try to swim best you can. I’ll be right here with you."
Tori started to do so, as she kicked her feet rapidly but slowed a bit to try and find a rhythm to it.
"Not bad. I’m sure we will improve on it." Jessica says.

They started to practice for few hours but it was about time they should go back to their dorms since the evening stars started to show themselves through the ceiling windows. They dried off and got dressed back into their normal clothes and went their separate ways for the day.

For the next couple of weeks, Jessica helped Tori to get better at swimming. As she slowly got better each day, she felt more comfortable with Jessica around, since she saved her life once already, so she felt she could trust her.
But one day, something started to happen. A certain person appeared one day. Tori came and saw the team doing their normal things. She also noticed someone else was here which confused her. Maybe she was seeing things because it was her other self, or her former self. She decided to go over to the person.
"Who are you?" Tori says to the person.
"Oh, look who it is. It's the new girl. I’ve heard about you" he says with a smirk.
"Who do you think you are?" Tori says to the person.
"Oh, well I’m you the real you, the true you, not the one that’s trying to act like something they are not." he says.
"You’re lying! You can't be me!" she said, backing up as tears starting to form in her eyes.
"Oh really? Then what are you telling me is you truly believe you are this fox girl you have become?" he says.
"I... I don’t know!"she says as her body glowed, She fired a ice beam at the person, freezing his arm as he tries to block the attack, which made the other four in the area stared at what happened to 'Corbyn.'
As the rest just stared at Tori, she looked shocked at what she done.
"I’m... I’m sorry." she said crying as she ran out of the room.

She rushed back to her dorm and cried on her bed.
"Maybe he was right. I’m too dangerous as this thing I have become. I’m so dumb to think I could fit in." she says to herself.

After some hours, she started to wake up as Meteo and Fox started to come in. They looked shocked and worried.
"We heard the news, what were you thinking? Using your powers on a mere human, we heard he might lose his arm from what you done and everyone is looking for you. You need to get out of here and run away to somewhere." Meteo said opening the window. Fox was holding the door back as they started to hear voices.
“Go, we’ll keep them distracted.” Fox tells Tori.
Tori knew she didn’t have much time as she hopped out the window and ran into the deep forest nearby, trying to find an escape.
She wasn’t expecting things to become this bad at all as she kept running, soon getting tired and falling to a tree stump. She started to cry into her paws as what has she done. Then she heard some rustling in the bushes, thinking it must have been Fox and Meteo trying to find her.
"Meteo? ... Fox, is that you...?" Tori asked as something else came from the bushes.
It was an Arcanine, dressed in police uniform. "We found her! Bring her in!" he said on his radio, as few Growlithes also appear to surround the Vulpix.
The Arcanine grabs Tori's arm.
"Please let me go! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to do it! Please stop!" Tori said closing her eyes and suddenly everything went silent.
Tori found herself in the same white void as before, as a rainbow light ball started to float down in front of Tori.
"My dear child. I feel the distress you feel in your heart. You feel this was all a mistake of you becoming the way you are. But I will say it was not I who made you become what you are. It was your own true desire that made you the way you are. I just granted it.”
"It was?" Tori said with a sniffle.
"Indeed. Do you truly believe what you have become was a mistake of what you truly are?"
Tori shook her head. "No... I feel more free with my new life and it brought me a new outlook on life and new friends I treasure deep in my heart." she said, realizing what it meant of beating herself up for the wrong reasons.
"I think I understand now..." she says "Then let us return and always trust your heart when you are unsure." says the light as it shines brightly.

Tori wake up in her bed. She saw Meteo and Fox talking among their selves, maybe planning on what to do next.
Fox looked over "What’s the matter, Tori?" she asked.
Tori sighed and tried to explain everything she could to her roommates. She also tells them she needed to get to somewhere.
"Oh ok, that is quite a lot to take in and hard to believe." Fox says.
"But we believe you and we are coming too. Besides, we love to solve mysteries and this might be our biggest one yet!" Meteo says.
Fox agrees as they all left their room and headed over to Tori's old house.

As they got there, it seemed people were still living there. She was the only one who lived there. As they peeked into a window, they saw the three people who were the ones responsible for what happened in the first place. But they also see a Pokémon talking with them.
"Whoa, that's Zoroark!" Fox says.
"Who is Zoroark?" Tori asked, confused.
"He is one of the Pokémon who have been causing trouble here. We’ve been looking for him ourselves." Fox says
"I guess this is the best time then to get the jump on him." Meteo said as her and fox went to the back door.
Tori would cover the front, so none of them escape. They kick the door and charged in, pouncing on the three humans. They quickly took down the three humans and subdue them quite easily.
“Not bad Tori! You’re really good at that!” Fox compliments.
“Hey thanks.” Tori smiles.
"Bah! You three are just useless! Why did even hire you?" Zoroark says with a growl. He laughed, seeing Tori again. "Well well, if it isn’t the human trying to be a Pokémon. I’ll just get rid of you now then, so you don’t get in the way again!" he says as he rushed at Tori.
However Meteo blocked him and threw him out the window into the outside to have more space.
"Don’t you dare lay a paw on him!” Meteo shouts.
“Yeah! You have to get through us two first." Fox says as the three started to fight.
Tori, which had no experience in fighting watched, but Zoroark, seem to have been getting the upper hand as he grabbed Fox and whipped her at Meteo, causing both to fall to the ground, tired and out of energy.
Zoroark walks over to Tori and grabs her by the neck. "Now to finish you off!" he says.
Tori body started to glow from the moonlight. "Not if I have anything to say about It." she gasps as she fired a Moonblast at Zoroark, which made him fly back into a tree. Zoroark blacks out.
"That was amazing Tori! I didn't know you knew Moonblast." Meteo says with a little laugh. Fox joined in after a short while. The police force came by from the commotion. After Meteo explained what happened, the police takes Zoroark and the three thugs away.
Tori just sighed, relieved it was over. Surprising enough, Jessica also appeared and held Tori tight.
"You had us all worried when you left so suddenly! I guess we all were tricked by Zoroark. He fooled us all." Jessica says, embarrassed.
"It's ok. I’m still me, but better." Tori says happily as they both hugged each other tightly.

Few months later...
It was the swimming completion with some other schools. It was down to the final pair as the score was tied. It was the swim captains of both schools to see who was faster. Jessica, against a Lapras girl. They both shot out very quickly around the bends as Tori was in the Crowd with Meteo and Fox, cheering Jessica on, giving all the support they can. It was down to the final turn.
“Go Jessica! You can do it!” Tori Cheers out.
They both crossed the final line, Jessica taking it by mere seconds. Everyone cheers as the team was handed their gold medals and trophy. They waved Tori down to join them. Meteo and Fox cheer Tori to go to them. She hugged them all in a group team hug.

From the roof, stood two Pokémon. They watched the people below them.
"Sometimes I think you’re too nice for your own good." says a mew, whipping their tail around as they watched the people. "You think you made the right choice giving them a second chance?"
I feel I have made a wonderful choice." the other says, seeing Tori's happy expression being held by the others. The mysterious Pokémon started to flap their wings and take off as Mew followed, as a single rainbow feather fluttered down on to the roof as it shined brightly.
