The whole group got their glamour and disguises on as they stepped inside the little cafe and made a few orders. Matthew took a few sips of hot chocolate as he sat with his friends at the table. "Thanks for the drink guys." Lass made him say with a smile.
"Yeah, you still owe me for that." Tori said "Now what can you tell us about this personality?"
"Na-ah," Matthew's head shook. "I know 'bout it as much as the rest, but it's freaky."
"Likely," Tori said "What's it look like?"
"Imagine a dead wolf," Lass started "A wolf wit fur as grey as ours, but with cuts an scares all over, an it's dead.."
Jake looked Matthew's way the entire time. "And you and Matthew say it's just stalked you in the past? Do you have any idea what it might want?"
"Tah terrorize us." Lass said and had Matthew take another sip "The best guess I 'ave."
"Hidden motives.." Jake turned away and rubbed his chin
"Well, How did you put up with it all?" Sera asked "This sounds awful."
"Yah talking to me or Matt?" Lass asked as she looked at her "Cuz I think he's gone when we take over."
"Oh," Sera's ears lowered "Yeah I wanted to ask Matt."
"Ey, He comes back." Lass said, and had Matthew put a hand around her shoulders. "We're him afterall, not the other way around." Matthew smiled to her sympathetically, but it doesn't really help.
"I know what you're doing, Lass." Sera said as she looked at Matthew "But you're not Matthew."
"I'm part of him," Lass said "That's the same thin', right? I want the same things he wants." Then she had Matthew look to Kari "I jus 'ave what it takes tah get it."
Kari looked away though, but then her hears perked up and she looked back. "You mean You're why we met?"
Matthew's lowered a bit, but then Lass said "Well know, but Matt wanted friends, so I helped him to open up to yah guys."
Then Jake looked at Matthew next "Wait, so you went to make friends because Matthew wanted them?" he touched his chin for a little more "At least now I know how you're connected to Matthew. Just gotta figure out how The First is."
"You'll get it, Jake." Tori said "Just need the right method."
"Method of what?" Matthew asked, ears down again. "Method of a cure?"
"To try and find out more about that killer in you." Kari said "This questioning method isn't working. Maybe we ought to try something more basic."
"Like what? Hypnosis?" Tori asked "We need actual psychological aid, not a magic act."
"Actually hypnosis is done by some psychologists." Jake said "It's just not like what's on TV. it only works if the subject wants to be hypnotized."
"Let's do it then." Matthew said "I'll do anything if it means stopping this thing from coming after me."
"For you know, you're scaring yourself." Jake said "I'll do it but we'll need the right material."
"Meet in my room tonight?"
"Just be sure you're there."
"And that goes for all of you." Tori said "I want this taken care of more all of you, so be there."
"I'll make sure of it, Tori." Kari said and helped Matthew out "We got a class, cya."
The rest dispersed soon and even later they sun began to fall both to the horizon and behind some dark clouds.
"We should get going." Matthew whispered to Kari as they sat in class "Brian thinks a storm is coming, and doesn't want us wet."
"Relax then." Kari whispered back "I got that covered." and when class ended they walked to some doors outside. She held out her hand as mist formed in front of it. the rain fell through it for a moment, but then it just stopped. "I can control more than just water vapor."
Matthew looked in awe, and followed her under the cloud she made, not getting a drop on himself. "Holy cow, you are powerful."
"Yeah I am." Kari said with a smile "Still think I'm can't stay safe around you?"
"I'm starting to doubt it," Matthew said, "But you'll need to be on more guard tonight." He looked around for The first "You'll have to protect the others too, from it. You think you can do that too?"
Kari didn't answer, she clearly pondered over the chances, and it made her ears lower.
