An experiment with an animal that’s seldom, if ever, talked about. I’m moving to China this year in June, so I wanted to tackle some non traditional species over there.
This is a Sichuan Takin, related to sheep and goats, they have a fat, rounded snout that I found very iconic. This character in particular is a tribesman who’s is traveling through a bamboo forest either to gather resources or hunt some game.
In my head world, I’m trying to work out the bells and whistles of how exactly prey and predators could coexist in similar competition. I feel that it was originally species based communities that, eventually, after a lot of tension came to an agreement to be a cohesive community much like countries we see today. There is still strife and racism, but with rise in education and socialization with diversity, the younger generations are quickly dissolving the stigmas and learning to co-operate even more than their predecessors.
