One August Creation Day down, two to go T_T
I hate drawing birds....too much detail for my lazy butt to deal with.

History:
Let me re-introduce (or just plain introduce) you to Shikkoku, the bird you'd love to hate.
Shikkoku is a raven hatched and raised in the Black Heart Marsh of Kage no Wakusei. She's the "no nonsense ' pet' of Kuro the dragon. She speaks her mind and doesn't give a damn if feelings get hurt in the process.
Like all Black Heart animals, Shikkoku is quite different from ravens born elsewhere. Look carefully in her wings and you'll see a set of claws. Those claws are perfect weapons in a fight. Another feature Shikkoku has is rare to see as it's the very last thing victims get to see when facing her. Her tongue can extend much like that of a chameleon's. But, instead of a soft, sticky end, the tongue forms a very sharp and surprisingly rigid lance or needle which can easily pierce through thick skulls. She specializes in grasping and holding victims' heads with her wing claws, then driving her tongue right into their brain. Depending on where she hits, the victim can be left dumb, a vegetable, or in most cases, dead.
She also has another use for that tongue when it come to Kuro. Using her tongue as a needle, she can inject Telworms into his cranium as he sleeps. The telworms enter into his inner ears (Affecting Kuro's movement), and into his brain (Affecting his thoughts and actions). They then form a telepathic link to Shikkoku and she directs the worms and the worms direct Kuro according to Shikkoku's will. Kuro's not one to fight, but using this technique, Shikkoku forces Kuro to fight opponents stronger or equal to his own strength. Kuro's a weakling by many standards, but the forced fighting builds his strength by leaps and bounds. The telworms die out within 4 hours and they actually provide nourishment to Kuro's brain. The only harm done to Kuro is lack of sleep and a few cuts and bruises from fighting. He doesn't even remember that anything has happened.
Shikkoku doesn't like many people or things. Some even wonder why she chose to accompany the wayward young Kuro in the first place. The only one who knows for sure is Shikkoku herself, and she's not commenting on the subject. She also hangs out with Blizzard's pet, Frostbite, acting as a partner in crime and Frostbite's interpreter.

This one isn't too bad actually, compared to a lot of bird drawings I've seen (and I spent over a year just working with birds, I'm familiar with their anatomy)
The biggest problems are really the proportions: The wings are a bit too small, and the bit above the tail feathers is too big. Overall though, I feel you captured the pose really well and the coloring is great! :3

Birds are just a little more foreign to us, and even though their very common we don't really pay much attention to them on a day to day basis like we do most other animals. :) Just takes practice. Personally I use google all the time just to look for similar poses to pictures I'm working on to make sure I'm not too far off.
Keep up the good work!
