So here we have the Tyranid Biovore, one of my favorite creatures to use in the current edition.
Oldest one on the left. This creature had long front limbs with hook like claws and short back legs with hooves. It's spore launcher was without armor but it's spore sack was not visible, maybe inside it's body. It's small skull like head gives hints as to how these creatures were grown using Ork DNA.
Middle creature really shows the Ork DNA is prevalent when manufacturing these monsters in the hive. Large arms and hands replace the more insect look of the first. And it's head and face are very Orkish. It's spore launcher now completely covered in armor and the spore sack is external, on the creature's underbelly.
Biovore of today on the right. Much more armor but these creatures never had to be fast moving to begin with. Still a very Ork like face. This one has a longer tail with a club at its tip. Its spore launcher is now massive and houses two spore sacks, allowing it to create more spore mines quicker.
I think my personal favorite is the oldest one. I like the more insect look with just a hint of ork in there.

Oh now I feel ancient, I only had the oldest one.. goes to show how long since I collected and played 40k :(
I still think the classic tyranids generally look the best though, I miss Carnifexes being weird scythe-armed monsters and zoanthropes looking like they'd mutated from sunflowers and so on.. kind of feel like a lot of the creatures look too similar now.
