The Silent Lady
Okay, folks. I have another song to share with you all. In case you didn't know, I finished Paul Kidd's "A Whisper of Wings" last Friday evening. It was a wonderful book and I thank
aelius for recommending it to me; in fact, it inspired me to compose a "main theme" for the story. I think it is very wonderful; I almost cried when I composed this, too.
Well, this isn't quite fanart, although it I think it would be "fanmusic."
So, sit back, relax, and drift away to Kashran lands along with the harmonies and melodies in this piece. Ready, Snow Leopard Orchestra? How about you, Kotaru? (That's the nickname I gave the recorder player. XD) Okay, good. Here's we go....
I wonder how the folks at shadarii.com would feel about music files...

Thank you! Thank you so much! In fact, I labeled that recorder instrument "Clay Flute" while I composed it in Reason.
I was told the same thing by someone in Second Life when I shared this song with him. He also told me to send it to Paul Kidd himself. Hmm, I just might if so many other people suggest it. How can I do it?

OH ... MY ... GU ... SHOU ... SEKAI!!! No wonder that guy said it was hard to find publishers! I didn't even believe him when he said "Nyaha! I AM Paul Kidd! Tee hee!" I thought he was joking around.
I am so blown away! I'll try and link him here.
BTW, what did you think of the song?

Hey - Great job there!
Glee! Thank you for the music!

Ranking: SUPERB! You got a medal!"
(Rhythm Heaven ftw!)
Exultation! You're welcome, Mister Kidd. I guess I might have earned your respect, much the same I did with Aelius! This is just like the time I wrote "Call of the Tundra" out of inspiration from Aelius's Tenefer Eos picture!
Thank you for the accolade! Thank you for the fave, too!

Yes. It was something I tapped out using the Star Melody app for iPod Touch, in fact. But I took that melody and set it to a harp and celesta. The melodies on the plucked instrument and celesta after 3:11 were also tapped out on Star Melody.
Two people have already said the recorder playing at 4:00 is like Kotaru playing his clay flute for Shadarii. I'll be amazed if more listeners who've read the book and remember it well, even Mr. Kidd himself, agree.
So, how fitting do you think this is to the main story?

Yes! Yes, indeed. At first, I was a little nervous that this would have a too-oriental flavor, but Paul Kidd, AngelGothFox, and you all like it.
I kept the themes in mind as I composed, which in return gave me a rather emotional score. Instrumentation was a consideration, too.
Wow, it seems when I aim for the right feeling, I really hit the mark. I wonder if I could hit it real superb if I composed a song based on the Ghost Dance scene. I happened to hear music in my head while reading that.

It's done. All finished in one day. I'd love to upload it but I want to know how Paul Kidd feels about me uploading a second song inspired by the same book and based on the action from the Ghost Dance to Shadarii learning the questions she wants answered (Why do we fight, etc.) from Mother Rain. I will still credit the man, like all nice fans do.
