Oh I didn't made that up. That's what the seminarist/faither/whocares told us when a kid at class (not me) asked why they were lots of saints and virgins. Yeah they do teach that crap believe it or not. AND WORST.
*shudders*

The one thing turning people away from Christianity are Christians themselves.
It makes me glad that I grew up in a Christian household that was more on the liberal side of things. Even though my father was a pastor he didn't discourage us from questioning Christianity (he encouraged it in fact) and made sure that the views we developed were our own and not those of someone else.
It's also one of the reasons why I've moved very far away from the whole concept of religion. To me religion has always been an excuse to brain wash and remove reason in order to force everyone else into believing the exact same thing you believe. I guess I'm still technically a "Christian" with a firm belief in God and forgiveness but that label just makes me sick because everybody instantly starts assuming a believe things a certain way because of it. Christians end up getting upset because I don't go about things the same way they do and everybody else won't even give me a chance to explain because they have already given me a label.
Bah 0_0...
Amazing how I get on these rants sometimes...
I am glad that I've encountered few of those types of so called "Preachers of the Word" as I've grown older and found the right ways to deal with them.

"But first, you need to have form 27-B signed in triplicate, and approved by the Department of Revelations. The white copy of form 27-B must be submitted to the Department of Heavenly Works, between the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM. The pink copy you'll need to take to the Ministry of Angelic Activity, for cataloging and training purposes. The yellow copy is for your own records." =P
Hehe that kind of logic is one of the many many reasons that I pulled away from the church and religion at an early age, far too much dogma and roundabout explanations!

But you can't ask stuff all the time .. just from 9 to 5 on weekdays . Weekends and holidays are paid days off.
Plus right now , things are slow cause the staff is giving Mother Theresa training on how to use the receptionist's phone properly and after 12 years she's still not well trained.
Oh and..
All calls 3.50$/ minute
