Over the past winter break, I was working on an architectural model on SketchUp and was able to finish it before I return to college for the spring semester next week.

This all began back in October last year when I had an assignment for design class on drawing the anatomy and proportions of the human body. From that, I was inspired to draw the proportions of the Aurorian head as well as drawing my character Aurora with her egg. It was from these sketches that I created the spaces and structure for the temple. For instance, the dome structures of the temple were inspired by the head of the Aurorian dragon when viewing the front side. After drawing the initial rough sketches of the temple, I then refined the overall structures and did a notational drawing in which I was analyzing how light would enter the dome as well the sounds from the bells inside the top portion of the dome.

Since I was focusing more on my classes during the fall semester, it wouldn’t be until the winter break when I had the time to start creating a SketchUp model.

I will be uploading images of the models today, tomorrow, and Monday, and perhaps upload the model itself to the SketchUp 3D Warehouse for all to view
