Wow. Somebody got crotchety.
Besides, football of all forms completely blows. It's a bunch of vastly-overpaid school dropouts kicking a ball around instead of getting a real damned job nowadays. I mean, look at football 50 years back - most of the teams back then played the game as a SPORT, and STILL had honest trades to work, such as miners, blacksmiths, or builders.
What do most footballers do nowadays, hm? Apart from the actual game itself?
Ah, that's right! They're internationalposers superstars! They earn even MORE money for going out and splashing their obnoxious faces over the media, as if they didn't earn enough already!
Believe me, I like football as a sport, as a hobby. But how the fuck do you turn two hours or so of booting a friggin' ball around into a CAREER? I mean, Jesus Christ, look how much these guys earn! These guys earn from one game what it'd cost to get everybody in my house a brand new car! When half the world is dying of starvation and disease, all the Western world can think about is how much it's gonna cost to transfer one overpaid Spanish fuck from one team to another!

long story short i dont really give a crap i enjoy watching it live its fun and its something i do with friends and family which is better than going out robbing cars beating up old ladies and doing mass ammounts of drugs (the last one covering the majority of the fandom from what i've seen) so until i see someone who is whiter than white any critisism can go up there own arse for all i care yes they are over payed morons who more than likely cant spell there own name does not mean that the sport as a whole is not fun to watch live or to have a mess around with your mates down the park or something

Ah, right. So you're one of these so-called, self-styled 'pacifist' furs that would never, ever throw a jab in or get snarky because somebody pulled you up on something?
Gee. Never would've thought it, especially coming from your extremely well-thought out and in-depth response to my rant. 'Course, looking back, I don't seem to recall ever attacking the sport directly, nor the people who enjoy it - I'm wondering how, then, in that vein, I get a response of how the enjoyment of football is preferable over other, more macabre forms of entertainment.
Since you probably didn't understand that, let's go about this in a more simplistic manner:
Nobody started bitching about the people who like football. Just the game and what it's turned into recently. Nowhere in this equation should there be anything about criticism on other people, since the only criticism offered was aimed at completely another area.
Therefore, I shall leave this to the annals of 'loldrama'.

i know this is an old post and forgive me but i read it and agree highly. Its not right ethically that doctors and nurses who save lives every day earn faaaaaaaaaar less than these guys that kick a ball around now and then. However, i can't change that xD football as a game i can appreciate, and the fun in supporting it, but footballers? pah. Anyhoo sorry again i know its an old comment but wanted to put that view across ^^;
