Well. Sometimes the captain sneaks the key to the food pen off of her first mate. Then problems happen. Problems like the captain gorging herself to the point of exhaustion, or even worse, getting herself stuck in the door in the middle of her rampage. Then you've got a pissed-off first mate, a preoccupied captain, and maybe one terrified sailor who managed to avoid her grasp during the initial binge. But then comes the questions, and the betting. Is she gonna digest the others enough to be able to get him too? How long until she nabs him and finishes off the whole lot? Or is he gonna be lucky enough to earn a promotion to the crew both to punish her and also because he'd be such a paranoid wreck he'd never dare get into a position where she might eat him. Staring into the eyes of the devil, as some call her frustrated, irritated, hungry gaze, that can really change a sailor.

Suffice to say, she'll definitely be on a diet of fish stew for a month after binges like this. And she really loves fish stew, so it's not much of a punishment. It's more keeping her on a short leash because of the lost time eating a full cage of people can cause.
