I've never seen them having these markings before.

It... looks kinda odd to me. Realistic horse coat patterns, but with technicolor pony coloring, it looks like they had a fun, messy time painting a mural or something and got paint all over themselves.

One thing I did as inspiration for my race of notMLP!ponies was I took a chart over various Horse coat colors and then I saturated it, which gave me a version of realistic coat colors with more intense colors which seemed like a good compromise. You could try doing something like that, and then mess with the "hue" slider until the base color matches whatever pony you want to color, that way you have an idea of what the coat would look like if it was tinted towards that color.

That could be a fun idea. In fact, next time I draw ponies, I'll definitely do that. I think it could turn out really well, now that I think about it.
