A reference sheet for my fursona and fursuit character, Clopan de la Rue. This is my first finished piece of new art in a long time. I'm very rusty, so it was gratifying to draw something so close to my heart and not hate the results.

Clopan started as an homage to a character I love, Clopin from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He's still strongly inspired by Clopin, but over time he developed his own identity and personal meaning to me. Clopan is my more masculine, assertive, independent side. He's a way for me to try to reconnect with the creativity, spontaneity, and joie de vivre I used to have before anxiety and depression took their toll.

The outfit you see Clopan wearing is similar to an actual costume I like to wear with the fursuit. It's just an idea; half the fun of Clopan for me is dressing him up in different outfits so artists can take quite a bit of artistic liberty when it comes to his clothes.

I've also noticed that some artists draw his ears shorter (like a real Nubian goat) while some draw longer ears (closer to the actual fursuit: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12887724/). I depicted him with long ears here, but you can adjust that to suit your style.
