With her dopey demeanor, her mumbly speech pattern, and her tendency to doze off during lulls in activity—especially in class—it’s not hard to see how the multitude of drug-related rumors floating around managed to spring up. As it is, she seems blissfully unaware of the slanderous remarks, as she generally spends her daylight hours in varying states of (un)consciousness. She’s developed a knack for sleeping on her feet with her eyes mostly open, but the slightest nudge is all it takes to topple her.

But just what is at the root of her odd “quirks”? By some fluke of nature, Ms. De Palmas developed a nocturnal circadian rhythm, a normal trait in feral Cacturne, but a rarity in ‘morphs. She brightens right up as soon as the sun sets, and from dusk to dawn can be seen acting as most teenagers do (or she would if any of her friends were awake). Life in the bustling city has long since taken its toll on her plant-like body’s complex processes, particularly the development of the waxy coating on her “flesh” that keeps moisture from evaporating too quickly; she requires frequent hydration to keep herself from wilting. More often than not she can be seen toting around a number of water bottles or, occasionally, an oversized jug.

Notes: She shaves down the majority of her thorny projections, having lost far too many outfits in the past simply by moving wrong. The only ones remaining are around her neck and on her forearms, the former as a form of protection (her neck is rather sensitive) and the latter in order to go on the offensive in battle.
