Nixie tubes were more popular in Russia. We long since went to LED and VFD but they stuck with the nixies up into the mid 80s. Most of them are Russian surplus and a few are still made

ohh yes. A lot of the radio transmitters I work on still use tube. And there is some music... Pink Floyds Wish You Were Here comes to mind... that is best enjoyed on vinyl, through tube amps and paper cone speakers. I used to have a peavy amp I used on my stereo that was tube. Sounded wonderful. Digital solid state cant compare.

Im hoping at some point I can get a bunch of the old vinyl and the players when my clients clean house. Theres also a nice tascam reel to reel I want. If I do I will build or buy a good 2 channel maybe 200 watts per channel. Yea the home theater is great but for some stuff I would like to be able to switch the cerwins to the tube amp and enjoy some classics.

awesome nothing beats the warm strong sound and tone of a tube amp never thought of using a tube amp with cerwin vegas dang makes me miss my set of cerwin vega speakers had the e-315 series
