Info on Texas: He is dedicated to a new born calf that I came in contact with up north in Show Low, AZ a few years ago.
His story is quite sad to be honest. This happen when I was in High School I think I was 9th grade at the time so the year was 2009.
I went up to Show Low with my family as we had a family get together up there we stayed in a cabin on Indian reservation and they had cattle in the forest which I have never seen.
I have only seen cattle on the farm not in the woods lol. Well one of my mom's brothers his name is Steve and he is one to play jokes and tease people etc etc but he goes to far and it hurts when he goes to far.
Well one day I got tired of him bulling me so I went for a walk on this dirt path that was close to the cabin. I was crying as I went for a walk.
I saw these two girls walking towards me and to my right their was a cow that was about to have a baby.
Any who long story short. I got to witness a miracle it was so cool and that calf was so adorable as well.
The next day I went back on the trail and the mother cow was still in the same spot with her calf. I am no vet but I knew something was wrong because both of them were not standing they were still laying down.
So I did something stupid and could have gotten myself killed because the father was watching me get closer and closer to the calf.
I thought it was a miracle watching him come into this world but when I touched the calf I knew he was sick he was so sick he was shivering.
I was so scared for the little guy. I had to go get one of my family members and then my uncle Steve found out what I did and he was telling me that I was at fault for killing the cow.
He would not shut up and even to this day he still calls me a cow killer even when I told him that farmers help their cows give birth. And when I told him that he said I was in the wrong.
That same night as I laid in bed trying to sleep I could here that mother cow cry over her poor baby. It was pretty tragic.
The next morning my uncle Steve was making carne asada and I asked what we are having for lunch and he told me we are having that baby calf that you killed.
Yea I passed on lunch and it was not the same cow he had already bought the meat some place else but still.
As we packed up to go home my mom and I decided to see if the mother was still there and she was she was still hovering over her baby and the heard had left her behind even the bull of her herd was gone as well.
This story is not one that is happy or funny and it is not one that is made up either. Everything that has been said is true and actually happen.
The calf that came into this world but did not make it had no name. I named him Texas as I name animals that I come in contact with that don't have owners.
Also I am not sure what kind of cow he was either but my fursona is dedicated to him in his remembrance.
Note: He has long horns as he is a Texas Longhorn.
