Gravity began failing first, whirls, freefall zones and singularities of infinite strength booby-trapping the land. Electromagnetic forces followed, horizon ablaze with thunders. Thermonuclear fusion died with a whimper, the Sun changed into blackened cinder. Matter began dissolving, air becoming poison, ground turning to mist, but before that, death became unreliable. Disembodied souls sought reason and hope in dying universes, but the ruin held no answers. Dimensions failed, as alternate universes spilled into each other. Then even souls began losing consistency, dying true deaths of nothingness. And in this madness, a small isle of stability floated, where few survivors took asylum.
