So, wait, do the 1st and 2nd stomach exchange their, erm, contents for a while before finally being sent to the third?

Does the first stomach have no actual muscular action or is the 2nd just better at it?

Basically the active ingredient in the first stomach is like some heavy dense goop that reacts with the food, melting it into more buoyant lighter sludge for the normal stomach, and the heavy goop by itself is not very good for the rest of the system so the second one sort of filters out and drains the heavy stuff that might end up flowing out along with the lighter sludge and pushes it back into the first stomach while the lighter stuff continues further down the track.
