"All I want is one of those happy endings," Venti said to Art. Both were in bed, Venti mentally drained from the day's events, Art somewhat energetic as he kissed around Venti's neck.

"If you did, wouldn't that mean you'd be dead?" Art murmured as he slowly kissed Venti's Adam's apple.

Venti grunted as Art homed in on one of the few points the jackal might be considered ticklish. "Stop that, you know I get the giggles if you do that for too long."

"Followed by a certain something which leads to me getting a sore jaw and a happy jackal."

Venti ceased his protests, as the lion had a valid point. "Yeah, I suppose I would have to be dead to get a happy ending, but at least it wouldn't be death by a thyroid problem or maybe hip dysplaisia.

Art stopped his attempts at getting Venti in the mood to give him an incredulous look. "What's hip dysplaisia?"

"It's an abnormal formation of the hip socket that, in its more severe form, can eventually cause crippling, lameness and pain in the joints."

"I've never known anyone to die from arthritis."

"It could happen!" Venti protested. "Maybe I'd overdose on my pain medication and BAM! I'm at the Pearly Gates waiting on my turn to get in."

Art rolled his eyes and returned to the task of careful smooches on Venti's neck. "You have a high opinion of yourself."

"I do, yup!" Venti placed his hands behind his head and relaxed as Art continued his task. "Of course, a happy ending would be for the two of us to pass away quietly in our sleep."

Art grabbed a pillow and thumped Venti on the head. "If you don't quit talking about this mood-killing topic, I'm going to give me a happy ending."

Venti laughed as Art tossed the pillow aside. "But you'd miss me."

"I'd visit your grave weekly, provided the police never catch me."

Venti cupped his hands around Art's head. "Yeah, last I heard, murdering your boyfriend was still a bad thing."

"Crimes of passion are still that--crimes."

"Speaking of passion, how about we try for that sore jaw now?"
