Poisoned Illusions
I would love to continue my duty, to achieve my promise. But no matter what I do, everything seems to be condemned to fail. I'm so tired...
But... He would certainly tell me not to give up, like Daji would... Can I just deceive their attempts?
I have to move on. I have to continue, whatever the poison running in my veins. I have to fulfill their dreams, I can't deceive them.
But, do I have the right to live with all of those sins I've committed? Will I deserve my redemption?

Finally, the Ethereal's pic is inked and colored, a year after I've sketched it!
I've sketched it on the back of theHeirs of my sins, the only gore pic I've done so far. I've only noticed that mistake once I was scanning the Heirs. D'oh!
As you may know, Ivy isn't not only a poisonous plant, but a parasit as well which drains the strenght/the blood of its host. This may be why I always draw that plant, for a symbolic I never was fully aware before.
That and chains, and ruins, and...
Damn...

I think it's because the baobabs were not poisonous, but they still were parasitic and deadly to their hosts. In the novel, only careful maintenance could protect from baobab infestation. If they were left alone, the little prince said, their roots would grow deep and eventually would destroy whatever small asteroids they were on.
Besides the setting, of course, I think the main difference is that they were big while the ivy is small ^_^

I love the subtle use of the thorny vine wrapping around Bothan. I didn't notice at first just what it was doing. At first glance, I thought it was just something beautiful growing around her... than the blood came into view. Plus, one can not ignore the environment around her. The water, the sky, the glow, and even the faint stains forming from the blood in the water on her dress. All of captivating. Plus, I'm not sure what it is about her eyes that really catch me more than usual.
Lovely work, as only could be expected.
