Just a quick doodle I whipped up last night after patch day in MWO that sums up last night and the next few weeks in a nutshell. Nothing to see here.

I don't have that much of a luxury. Majority of people I know that did play it no longer do anymore or rarely ever do so i'm pretty much stuck to pugging. And I'd rather not join some ingame group in either case because they're usually too "militarized" for my liking, gotta be on and do this or that and perform FW stuff on the occasion. I refuse to touch FW
Don't blame you on FW, I don't play it either. Honestly we're all a bunch of goofballs and casual trolls. Like there's a special place in hell for people like us, but we're anything but militaristic try hards. We're all not even in the same unit either. We literally just get together and try to have fun. Just take a look at some of Larsh's videos or come join us on Theme Night Fridays, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0.....wF0c6BTD3jhTgw
Yeah the so called "skill tier" isn't really skill per say, it's just how much you grinded cause it's way too easy to get increase in pilot skill. Though that said It's basically a slightly more complicated overall exp bar that puts all those who grinded a long time together and assumes that they all got roughly the same skill after that.
That means that people who aren't godlike but just play a lot of matches to grind out their favorite mechs are punished by being cannon fodder in those T1/2 games all the time
I do wish they put an "skill decay" system where your skill level decays over time if you'd been inactive.
Also someone once did a study between the various tiers and well, T 1/2 tends to be just full of meta-build mechs. the more interesting random nonsense builds tend to mainly show up at low tiers.

Yup. T1 is a shitshow right now with nothing but streak srms. I've died more to streak srms than anything.
And I doubt they'll ever do that kinda thing. T5 just...is no challenge for me either. I went back with an unskilled Jenner F i had from my alt account. Had a kodiak that was hiding behind a building in the water in river city because he didn't want to get shot at after being lrm'd at. He was so scared i was able to just keep shooting him without even moving from where he could see me. Unfortunately All tiers have issues, just the higher tiers have probies and shortbus tards. Which more or less I get all on my team while the enemy team gets the good players constantly. Seems it deems me a good player so I should effectively "balance out" the shit ones.

Nope, you don't even have to. As long as you get several kill assists and win you'll go up. I did literally under 100 dmg one game where we one once, with a single ERLL Spider, got 12 kill assists, my "PSR rating" went up. You don't have to do dmg. Kill assists is more powerful than anything else. Which promotes bad players who can't kill or do a lot of damage to be rewarded. Even in xp and cash, kill assists give far more than kills themselves.
well happens a lot for me too, which is why I actually have a win rate that's below 1... despite having a KD ratio above 1.
My luck is statistically bad :D
Sometimes makes you wonder if "Skill based matchmaking" was such a good idea afterall eh? If thinks you are good it constantly pits you against good players, meaning it'll eventually stagnate when you end up having a rubbish winrate again cause you get constantly pitted against people far better than you.

I haven't been instakilled by a consumable before... then again I rarely play lights. But the consumables do hit too hard.
Also they should put some really big warning beyond just a stupid flare for these things if they want to make it so damaging. cause a few times people drop flares just a bit behind me so you don't ever see it coming.
