No reason other than playing with a stylized look. I've often wondered how it would go if I went with a more hybrid, toonier bodytype, with relatively humanoid upper bodies, but more animalistic lower bodies. OMG pantsless!
And just to fully explore the concept, three beefy species that emphasize the chest vs midsection vs lower body. But just a doodle, not really something I'll polish up.

How fascinating...I never would have thought the two styles would go together so well, but you make it work. Possibly because these are just sketchy doodles, but also because it's just your versatile style. :)
