Ladies and gentlemen, meet the First Son of the Sea: Jimbei from One Piece! Again, he’s already quite thick so this is kinda redundant, but hey it was an excuse to draw a character I’ve never drawn before. However, he was a lot easier to draw and get right than I thought. No joke, this is literally my first attempt! The only difficulty I could see was getting the subtle nuances right. Other than that, he wasn’t that challenging… probably because he already looks like a character I would draw if you’ve been following my art for the longest time. Also, I debated as to whether or not he should have a belly button. Given that he’s a seafairing creature, I figured it wouldn’t make sense for him to have one. Plus I think it gives his belly a bit of charm, doncha think?
