It was a warm spring day in a small abode out in the countryside. An overcast day as a young tigress sat in a comfortable chair watching just outside of the home, a dirt path down the way and a street just barely in eyesight. Trees scattered about the area making for a picturesque scenery. “I wonder what today will bring.” Spoke the young female.
As she stared out the window a whistling came from the other room. “Oh good!” She spoke up in a cheerful tone. Standing up from her chair and moseyed into the kitchen, pulling a red kettle off the stove, turning it off. Flipping up the top and tipping the scalding water into an earthen colored mug sitting on the counter.
Letting the tea nettles inside the hot water steep she walked back to the window faithfully. Seeing a car make a turn onto the windy dirt road, the woman’s ears perked up with delight. Her tail thrashed seeing the dark blue car slowly making it’s way down the road and slowly turning into the driveway. She had a big smile on her face hearing that car door slam shut.
As the front door opened a large shaggy dark tan furred canine entered through the doorway. “Hunter?” He hollered out, only to see her standing from her favored chair with a big smile on her face.
“Hello dear!” She sauntered up to him and slung her arms around his neck giving him a soft tender kiss on the lips. “I’ve missed you my love.” She cooed.
Not skipping a beat the Leonberger wrapped his arms lovingly around her. “Hey you.” He smiled kissing her and bumps his forehead to hers in an affectionate way. “I’ve missed you.” The canine chuckled happily.
“I missed you too! I’ve been looking forward to our little nature walk today. I’ve been thinking about it all day!” She giggled excitedly. “I even packed us a picnic basket so we can enjoy the scenery around us.” She smiled sweetly and took his hand gently in hers and brought it up to her lips giving it a soft kiss.
“You really went all out huh?” The male chuckled. “I’m not going to lie, it certainly sounds like a lot of fun.” His tail wagged feverishly.
“I’ll go grab the basket, you go ahead and get changed into something more comfortable.” She released his hand and scooted off into the kitchen, on the counter beside the stove was a woven basket with a cloth sticking out of it. She quickly opened up the fridge pulling out a bottle of sparkling water; stuffing it into the basket along with a couple of glasses.
She goes hustling into the living room and headed to the door, her tail thrashing impatiently. “C’mon slowpoke!” She teased.
“Alright, I’m coming I’m coming.” He laughed. “Where’s the fire?” Walking over to her and kissing her lips. “So you ready?” He gave her a goofy grin
She nodded her head and reached back to the doorknob, giving it a clockwise turn; pulling it open. Giggling against his lips.
Pulling the door open and pushing her way through, the dark murky clouds above head leaving a foreboding feeling looming overhead. “Bit of a gloomy day isn’t it?” Zez responded.
“It does look icky out.” She gave a carefree sigh and gripped the basket handle tighter and walked down he path. The trees shading the area more, a warm dampness hung in the air as the two moved down the shadowed road they cold hear a rumbling in the skies. “Oh crap...” She pouted.
Zezima turned his gaze up to the sky feeling the plinking of droplets on his face, “Oh geez...” He murmured, a little crestfallen.
Not even seconds later did the tiny droplets turn into a full scale downpour. “Eek!” Hunter squealed covering her head.
“Come on! We gotta get back inside before we’re drowned out here!” The canine laughed taking her free hand and dragged her into the house.
The two were drenched when they entered the abode. The basket having been drowned by the downpour. “I’m glad I ziplocked everything.” Hunter made mention.
“Well...Since it was a bust. Why don’t we do our picnic inside?” Zezima asked. “I mean it’s not in the great outdoors but it’s in the comfort of the reasonably sized indoors.” He jested.
Suddenly a light went off in Hunter’s head. “That’s a brilliant idea!” She kissed him hard. “Quick! To the living room!” She pointed out. Without so much as wasting a second she began to dress down to her undergarments and sprang to the bedroom. Coming out moments later with several blankets and drops them in the living room.
She sets them up nicely and them proceeds to pull out the food and drink from the basket and sat her pantied rump on the blanket. The television thrummed to life as she changed it onto a movie for the two of them to watch as they enjoyed the food.
Zezima, the Leonberger had struggled his way out of his jeans fumbling about in the doorway. “W-wait for me!” He stumbled and crashed to the ground laughing, now sitting in his underwear. He smiled sitting beside her and pulled her closer to him. Their fur damp from the rain.
Hunter grabbed the free blanket and wrapped it around the two of them. The tigress turned off the lights and quickly scooted her way back under the blankets. She pulled out a sandwich and handed it over to her canine lover. The scent of a fresh chicken salad sandwich wafted to the male’s nostrils.
“It smells good love.” As he took a large bite of it. With an audible crunch sound, the refreshing flavor mixed with the vegetables inside the mix made for a truly enjoyable meal.
“Tsssst!!” Went the bottle of sparkling water as the canine cracked the cap, pouring a cup of water for himself and his beloved. “You know. Even though this was a wash out this has so far been a lovely idea.” He smiled sweetly kissing her head.
“Well thank you sweetie, but you know it isn’t all my doing. You helped, mother nature helped. I mean, it was a joint effort!” She giggled and laced her fingers with his.
The two of them watched the television for about an hour before the food was finally consumed and the they were finally warming up once again.
“So now what baby?” The canine questioned. “Any more tricks up your sleeve?” He ran his fingers through her fur slowly.
She stood up from the blanket on the ground and held out her paw to him with a smile. “Come with me.” She urged him sweetly.
The Leonberger took her hand as he slowly rose up from his seat, walking down the living room as the tigress walked him over to the window where she once sat. A second seat across from her. Watching the rain fall down around them. Trickles of water down the window, the two hand in hand watched the placid scenery.
“I’m sorry that you didn’t get your nature walk darling.” Zezima murmured stroking his lover’s paw delicately.
“You know what they say darling...Summer rains. You can never predict them.”
