A new year, new dinosaur anatomy! I decided to kick things off with a study on allosaurus fragilis! I always found them interesting and cool. Skeleton done in markers, white pen, and colored pencils. Labels done in Illustrator.

I would emphasize amateur lol. I have only gone to one dig and done some lab work but it all goes to the research foundation. Most of these digs are priced in the thousands of dollars. Anyone can participate so anyone can be an amateur paleontologist, it just takes a boat load of money. I saved up for it since i could get an allowance. I plan to go back some time in the future.
So cool! I live in California and I know a couple of places that have fossils. I've hunted for fossils a few times during winter. I'm a pale redhead so I get burned super easily during the summer when i'm outside, lol. That's mainly why I can't go fossil hunting all the time.
The desert is a dry heat so the slightest breeze is a breath of fresh air. I know what you mean by pale. I am full blown Irish american so I don't tan, but 100 degrees out there is like 65 with wind in my hometown in NY which was super humid. Wear a long sleeve shirt and a wide brimmed hat like Dr. Grant and you will be in good shape :)
