I was fortunate enough to provide the T-shirt Design for EF 23, the topic was ancient egypt.
My goal was to approach it the same way I design T-shirts for me and my shops. Animal, somehow furry but not in your face.
And alot of people seemed to like that approach, I was so anxious and worried but all the nice words and hundreds if people running around
in this shirt made everything so worth it.
So I decided to use a part of Sekmet’s story. Once she fell into a rampage and almost killed all of humanity (hence anubis presence here) and to stop her the gods gave her beer mixed with pommegranate juice, she furiously drank the mixture thinking it was blood and got so drunk, she fell asleep.
That is why there is pommegranate fruits, blossoms and leaves present. The sun disc is rather obvious I think ;)
I always like to combine my designs with symbols and shapes, bringing everything together and giving it an additional depth in terms of context and meaning.
