Drawn during Megaplex 2009 in Kissimmee, Florida, this anteater (or ant bear or aardvark - call him what you want). was placed in an unfamiliar environment. I wanted to take my mind off of the high temperatures of central FL during the con and the hot, summer month of July. And since everybody is always drawing lions (and other big cats), bears, foxes, wolves (and other canids), skunks, otters, and raccoons, I'd felt that this alternate jungle critter could use a change of scenery. My only regret is that I forgot to draw a pair of earmuffs for him...

Yeah. I plan to draw such a gag idea, inspired by my younger brother's own Mini. It was a toss-up between having an elephant or a hippo behind the wheel; the elephant won (since it used to be a popular animal in such jokes and riddles like "How many elephants can you fit in a Volkswagen?"). The proposed title for my work: "Mini-Cooper/Maxi Driver"!
"iGracias, Tzologeist!"
I'd almost called this work "Tundra Aardvark", until I saw a picture of an aardvark in the dictionary, with his head, body and tail differing from that of a conventional anteater (which I'd drawn). That would've been cool, since the title contained three consecutive As in the middle. Despite the slip-up, I still made my character quite charming!
