I took this weekend off and drew exclusively for myself, because I was a bit overworked. Oh, and I love that humans are in the primate section, hehe.
Well, this is what Jameel would look like as a human. He's not my sona or anything, there was no human that he was modelled after, so I thought it would be interesting to go the other way around and create a human that has similarities with the furry. And now I really want to make that mustache work on his feline form as well, hah.

There are many artists in here that have focused so much on being good at drawing antrhropomorphic characters that they will often say that they will not draw humans because they aren't good at them. That has led me to just kind of accept that furry artists will just not draw humans, BUT THEN WE HAVE YOU, drawing your chubby kitty boy as a chubby human boy because hey why not. I love this. Well done.
By the way I finally saw your ad. I love how you just put Jameel lazily laying in there with his pink undies hahaha

Haha! You love it <3 It's kinda the other way around with me, I think? Okay, I started out as someone who exclusively drew animals back when I was a kid. And around 10 or 12 I was introduced to manga and since than I was mainly active on sites and around people who, if anything, drew manga as well. So humans it was. And I had to learn that first! (Because nearly no one I met was interested in animals at all. Plus, Furry was one of those no-goes on those manga sites for some reason.) And learning how to draw humans was hard, but over time became that I liked best.
Anyway, when I decided to come here and came up with Jameel, it took me a bit but I got back into drawing more animal features pretty quickly. It felt (and feels) pretty familiar and now I enjoy both, I think. I'd definitely miss drawing paws, big ears and muzzles if I went back to drawing humans exclusively.
Hah, I feel like after christmas the pool of ads has shrunken so drastically that I've seen my own like a hundred times since then (and very little before).

Skinsona isn't bad, but Jameel has skin either way, it's just hidden underneath the fur. And in that case, what about Sphynx Cats? Or a shark, can it be a fursona ...? And what about hairy people? Is Marıyan his own fursona? Can a furry become a non-fur after visiting a waxing studio??
Nakedsona. Nudesona? Hm. Baldsona! Peoplesona. Persona. Personsona? Anthrosona? I think go for Humansona after all.

I thought fursona was a portmanteau word of furry + persona, so persona on its own would be kinda pointless, huh?
Oh and do you mean me personally or was that a general you? Because I wouldn't argue that anthros are people or persons as well. (The world I imagine for my characters is more or less like ours, but with Furries/Anthros instead of humans. As if all kinds of animals developed in a human-like way, so they see themselves and each other as people. I know that you shared a bit of your worldbuilding in another comment and I'm interested to hear more, I just didn't came around to answer that yet, sorry!)
He's arab, from Morocco, to be precise.

General "you".
There are numerous reasons why I don't like to go off of the hypothetical approach of all animals developing in a human-like way at least to give the same result as would be ideomatic in the fandom:
1. The probability of numerous animals developing the same exact trait independently as a result of natural selection decreases drastically with each number of species you would want to include, and they would all come from intermediary steps in evolution, which is a statistical impossibility based on population dynamics and biological equilibrium. I know that humans (not just homo sapiens) managed five separate origins, which I say because I don't personally believe in the out-of-Africa theory for a number of other reasons, but that's another discussion.
2. Most furries imagine a furry world where everyone is their own "furry persona" resulting in a widely diverse population, which if you don't account for the impossibility of interbreeding and lack of potential hybrids, is to me impossible due to it being so detrimental to social cohesion the populations would likely be anti-social/violent (which is what is going on with multiculti in modern times).
Other reasons are a spectrum between reason 1. and reason 2. expanding on what I mean exactly by this.
Oh, also you say Jameel is Arab, but the overwhelming majority of Moroccans are Berber. Would he be an Arab immigrant into Morocco then? :3

Hm, I see and I also think that such an evolution doesn't make much sense, but I personally don't have a problem with overlooking that fact. I don't see my characters/story/whatever ever going into the detail what happened millions of years ago - so I probably don't run into any problems there. (Which doesn't mean that I don't find it interesting to speculate about that.)
I'm more interested in the world's current society, so your second point is more of a tough nut for my worldbuilding! Mainly, can different species have kids together, no matter what? And if so, what do the kids look like? Mixtures? Or a random purebreed? Or does it work completely different and a donkey and a dog can produce a cat or something?
(From a design standpoint and personal taste, I don't like fantasy-like mixed creatures thaaat much. Plus, most of the population would already be a mix of some sort.) :^/ I have to think about that some more.
Hmmm, there are a lot of Berbers, but Arab is another large group, so it's not so unlikely. But honestly, I don't know yet. What I know is that his family lives in a city (haven't decided where exactly), and that they are not soo traditional. Jameel himself doesn't live there anymore, he likes to see the world and lives in Germany at the moment, where he meets my other characters.

oh yeah, I am really bad at it too. At times when I'm supposed to be taking a break I just end up gravitating back towards my work though because of boredom or anxiety over finishing. But the times when I can just let myself have a day or two a week to myself makes all the difference though.
Hopefully we can both start sticking to taking days off!
