This week we lost a true hero and icon of the Funny Pages with the passing of "Beetle Bailey" artist & creator Mort Walker.
Thank you for your service Mort, both in WWII, and in making us laugh at the absurdities of Army Life for 68 years.
Beetle Bailey will continue on through his sons.
Hooah!

Grew up with Beetle Baily. It's still in our local paper. Being in a military town it has especial impact.
My personal favorite feature of the strip is how Mort would introduce new characters as the times changed. And apparently, Lt. Fuzz is far closer to the attitude and mentality of fresh-minted West Point grads than most West Point grads would care to admit.
