I like following them around and just watching them; love how you can do that with monsters now. Like, Kulu and Tzitzi, Palumu, and (So far) Kodachi are totally cool with you being close to them and following them around... And then tougher monsters like Rathian, Anjanath, and even DIABLOS will give you some breathing space to run by them before they'll go hostile. Unless of course you're on a Quest that asks you to fite them, in which case they'll often be hostile from the start.
Something I noticed is if a hostile monster wanders in and starts attacking one of the passive ones, that monster that was previously okay with you being near it will start attacking YOU too xD
I like following them around and just watching them; love how you can do that with monsters now. Like, Kulu and Tzitzi, Palumu, and (So far) Kodachi are totally cool with you being close to them and following them around... And then tougher monsters like Rathian, Anjanath, and even DIABLOS will give you some breathing space to run by them before they'll go hostile. When you unlock the third "My Room" you can have quite a few pets in there; you can even capture the lil garden eel things in the Highlands :D (They're called Wriglers aaaaaaaaaa so cute!)
The pond can have fish you catch put in it, and I so wish you could go further out on the balcony to look over the landscape more ;v;
I looooove it when you fight firebreathing monsters at night. Anjanrath and Rathalos are much more cool during the night than during the day, since their fire attacks light up the area and it just looks so cool ;v;
and holy crap when it rains http://raethalis.tumblr.com/post/170281409412/ Raining at Night made for some fantastic screenshots, and at many points in the Ancient Forest made me think back to the Flooded Forest of MH3 - my favorite jungle area (Though MHW's Ancient Forest is tied with it now.)
Aaah it'd be cool if they bring back some classic environments to explor. I know most of 'em are "Old World" and all that, but since the game's theme is Exploration and Discovery, there's a few places - like the Flooded Forest and the Everwood - that'd fit that bill nicely, and Moga Island from what I hear is technically New World, and it'd be cool to have that pop up in a DLC patch to explore freely~ Plus lagiacrus would be easy to bring back then :D

That's would be cool. Be I don't think they will do that. I think they prefer to do new areas. Maybe we'll see some good old monsters returning! Like deviljho in he next dlc. Maybe the lagia will come back.

It's always a possibility, but you're right in that it's unlikely they'll focus much n older areas. The Deserted Island and (IMO) the Everwood are the best bets for 'returning areas', along with MHX/Gen's Jurassic Frontier which would have SO MUCH POTENTIAL for total freedom exploration! (Plus, second-favorite Jungle area)

Oh please no.. Not the plesioth. I remember its hipscheck. aaaaaaahhhh! This monster is like the diablos to me, I like their designs, but hate the monster in game. ><
mmhh I think we'll see in few month the Nargacuga, zinogre, tigrex (flagship monsters but not the gore magala), maybe some elders. I highly wish the Lunastra to come back! I loves her so much and to see the teostra without his lunastra is like a rathalos without a rathian.

His lava cousin is in, so I feel it's only a matter of time before he or Cephadrome make it in. :/
I was actually hoping to see Plesioth in Stories, wanted to ride one <3
I hope more mons come in soon~ I'd love to see some of the lowbies make it in as well, like Royal Ludroth, Great Jaggi, Yian Kutku~
I also really, really want to see Agnaktor. I got my hopes up when I entered that area but then it ended up being Lavasioth instead Like who would have thought? ^^
And yeaaaah Lunastra needs to come back ;v;
On a non-elder note, I really want Great Wroggi to return. They've been absent for far too long D: Such an underrated monster.
Though with the monster count increasing... I ended up skipping a lot of armor sets. I used the Origin set for a while until I got Jagras, and then used that all the way up to Kadachi. In most mh games I often skip a lot of sets. Maybe I rush by things too quickly, or maybe it's just choosing a set that you like and run with that for a while, but it feels that a lot of times, especially early on, I end up not even crafting most of the armors even though I still fight their respective mons.
However, one thing I often liked doing was after a while I felt like fighting an older mon again on a relatively even playing field, so I'd equip lower leveled stuff so it wouldn't be too unfair. So I guess in that sense~ ^^
Even if some things go unused by people for one reason or another, the more the merrier I say~!
