Illiadian holy Grand Counts - Chibis - Part 2
Edit Oct.2020: Changed the term "Archangel" to (holy) Grand Count/Countess, due to a change in Lore. These are the minor deities of Illiad, and not some holy messenger after all, so a new name in-line with the other deities' titles (Iron Emperor, Bronze Queen, Obsidian Duke etc) would be better.
Edit 31.Dec.2018: Changed the names of the Ena-Types to their new terms (Light -> Daylight, Darkness -> Moonlight, Penumbra -> Starlight)
Hey, first full colo drawing of 2018!... Geez, and I wanted to draw more this year, whoops. ILL TRY TO GET BETTER I SWEAR...
So, about an eternity ago, I drew some chibis for some of the Grand Counts, who are actually minor deities, from my Dimensional Shadows setting ( fav.me/d93tz6p ). I always wanted to expand on the last one, but never got around it... until now. So here's part 2!
---
1 - Grand Count of Visuals, Idorik
Contrast-Element: Holy
Gender: Male
Protegé(s): One confirmed, identity unknown
Idorik is a fan of, and governs, everything that's pleasing to the eyes... Paintings, sculptures, clothes, woven wall tapestry... Anything honestly goes. However, he also recently became a fan of modern art, which is rather... eh... subjective in terms of its visual appeal. He takes on the appearance of a Human from Terra Illiadis/Earth, in order to better observe this new art phenomenon, as well as create art himself. He recently became a bit of a popular artist under the alias "Donovan Tirevski". Worth noting is that Idorik has a Karrin ("Mortal") Protegé, but he isn't allowed to disclose their identity. His token ability is "Dazzling Visuals", which can stun people hostile to the user and their allies (provided they can see) and buff and/or heal the user or their allies.
2 - Grand Count of Pleasure, Adin
Contrast-Element: Moonlight, Starlight
Gender: (Demi-)Male
Protegé(s): ???
Don't let his effiminate appearance and the heaps of make-up he wears fool you; this draconic Grand Count identifies as and takes on the appearance of a guy... well, most of the time anyways. Adin is one of the three emotional triplets, three Grand Counts that seem to be especially related to each other, together with Grand Count of Emotions, Avon, who governs over all kinds of emotions, and Grand Count of Sorrow, Atay, who governs over sadness and sorrow. Adin's aspect is pleasure. Even though represents all kinds of pleasure, even the most innocent pleasures known to mankind, he instead choses to outwardly represent sexual pleasures. Adin is also a big hedonist, spending most of his time in in his own realm in the Marble Cathedral, the Realm of Pleasure, to enjoy himself. He's also very active in the affairs of mortals and karrin... to the point where he fathered (and even mothered) quite of bit of half-mortal noble-children; half-Grand Count half-karrin people, who also get their own rooms in the Marble Cathedral after death. Much to his dismay, his children often end up in sex work or end up having sex-filled lives... He'd much rather have them spread pleasure in a more wholesome manner instead of doing things like him! "Why can't any of my children just open an Ice cream parlor instead...?" Many of his lovers chose to stay with him in his realm of the Marble Cathedral, the realm of pleasure. There, they become either part of his harem or get their own place to stay. Despite having maaaaany lovers, he is actually very loving and attached to all of them. His token ability is "Wave of Pleasure" which can send a wave of pleasurable feelings over others, to the point of which it can completely disable them for some time.
3 - Grand Countess of Dance, Hailana
Contrast-Element: Daylight
Gender: Female
Protegé(s): Iabas Sochara
Considered a counterpart to the Grand Count of Sound and Visuals, Hailana governs over all kinds of dances. She's considered the original Rakiakaru, since it were her saints, the Dancing Prophets, whose 3-day-long dance on top of a mountain resulted in the emergence of the power to turn into Rakiakaru among the Mikaru. One of them is even thought to be her very own child! She's in general very laid back and friendly, if sometimes a little easily exciteable. She's considered one of the sweetest Grand Counts around. She's also known as the protector of the famous ancient Illiadian Prophets St. Ohunto of the Ree-Mai and St. Abesh of the Mikaru, who danced to their deaths on top of a mountain to contact the sleeping gods during a time of need, as well as St. Abesh's mother. It's said that she also watches over parties if you ask her through a short ritual, which then will result in an astounding success. Her token ability is "Endless Dance", which makes anyone affected by it dance to exhaustion.
4 - Grand Countess of Sorrow, Atay
Contrast-Element: Neutral
Gender: Female
Protegé(s): ???
Atay represents sorrow and sadness, but also the good things that come from these emotions, like compassion and the desire to change things. She's the only one of the emotional triplets who didn't choose the appearance of a dragon and instead chose to be a Mikaruian woman. Because of her aspect, Atay isn't exactly the most popular of Grand Counts, but she still get's some prayers every now and then and even has her own priests here and there; because it's known that even if her aspect is not exactly nice, she IS important. Her token ability is "Wave of Sorrow". It works simmiliarly to Adin's Wave of Pleasure, but with sorrow... of course.
5 - Grand Count of the Hunt, Minlay
Contrast-Element: Starlight
Gender: Non-binary
Progegé(s): ???
Minlay is, nowadays, almost exclusively revered by the Ree-Mai, born Rakiakaru and dragonkind, simply because the other Illiadian races don't really need to hunt that much anymore. However, those who do revere them revere them HARD. They're the embodiment of the thrill of the hunt, but also the companionship that can be gained through hunting together; which are things that pack-hunters like Ree-Mai and Dragons treasure. This also makes them one of the more amiable Grand Counts out there, as they're incredibly friendly and quick to make new friends. Their token ability is "Hunters' Eyes" which gives it's user heightened senses to find the prey they hunt; but this can also be used in other ways. Minlay gifted a weakened version of this ability to the Rakiakaru species.
6 - Grand Count of Might, Hadonen
Contrast-Element: Moonlight
Gender: Non-binary
Protegé(s): Ignaz Ardun
Ironically, Hadonen is a Moonlight contrast elemental. Moonlight is one of the most defensive ena-types, and can't usually pack as much of a punch as the other types, but Hadonen represents physical strength. However, due to this, they also represent pushing oneself to the limit, to the point where they can achieve anything. They represent themselves with the form of a Rakiakaru and they're known to be very serious and an all-business-but-no-play type of person. Nonetheless, that hasn't stopped them from sometimes partaking in contests that measure strenght against Karrin on Illiad or Terra-Illiadis in disguise. Their token ability is "Might of the Heavens" which makes the user incredibly physically powerful for a short time.
7 - Grand Countess of Logic, Itah
Contrast-Element: Neutral
Gender: Female
Protegé(s): ???
This Grand Count may be one of reason and intelligence, but she's anything but cold and unfeeling. In fact, she believes that the purely logical way isn't always the right one, and you also need to find a way that's logical, but also feels right. This is also probably reflected in her relationship with the Grand Count of Emotions, Avon. They're very good friends and often take advice from one another. Itah takes on the appearance of an Illiadian Human scholar and it's even rumored that sometimes she disguises herself and works as a teacher. Her token ability is "Stream of Logic", which boosts intelligence and logical reasoning for a short time.
8 - Grand Count of Architecture, Dahnes
Contrast-Element: Neutral, Holy
Gender: Male
Protegé(s): ???
Even though he takes on the appearance of a Ree-Mai, Dahnes is the Grand Count of Architecture, having the ability to create wonderful, large and complex structures. Thus, he's most revered by the Mikaru, Dragons and Humans. This is why you'll also usually see him in Aisepan or Mikaruian clothes instead of traditional, Ree-Maian garbs. He's also considered the patron of architects and builders because of this. Dahnes is generally a kind person, but sometimes a little too laid back at times. His token ability is "Sky-high Spires", which can basically temporarily create sky-high towers out of the ground; and best of all, they can even be lived in for some time... until they crumble, at least.
9 - Grand Countess of Unrest, Valie
Contrast-Element: Starlight, Shadow
Gender: Female
Protegé(s): ???
One of the few Grand Counts to be come permanently shadow-stained after the War of Shadows against the Ancient Horror. Takes on the appearance of a wingless, tailless Arrash. She, like the Grand Count of Change, Sahwey, represents change... but rather than Changes in the timeline, she represents rapid changes in people, society and the world; like revolutions, reforms, reevaluation of ones priorities, growing up, but also transformations. The latter of this, combined with her shadow-stained situation, turned her into the patron of Tirrdaka, Light- and Shadow Walkers and even Feda-Lide! Her token ability is "Transformative Touch", an ability that can let the user transform anything or anyone into something else; often temporarily but sometimes permanently!
10 - Grand Count of Language, Deriel
Contrast-Element: Holy, Daylight
Gender: Male
Protegé(s): ???
Deries is often credited in all Illiadian religions to have brought language to the peoples of Illiad, as well as giving them the gift of writing. This makes him quite the revered Grand Count among almost all Illiadian cultures. Deriel himself is nice and outgoing, always looking forward to speak to new people and to have a good conversation; he talks and talks for hours on end, so you better watch out if you find yourself in a conversation with him. You might stay there for a day or two, while he tells you one story after another! His token ability is "The gift of understanding", which allows its user to understand every language; both written and spoken. This also includes sign language!
11 - Grand Count of Cooking, Kerkis
Contrast-Element: Moonlight
Gender: Male
Protegé(s): ???
Often credited with giving the Karrin of Illiad the idea to cook their food, Kerkis is probably the master of the culinary arts in the godly family of the Marble Cathedral. His food is usually found during festives with deities of other worlds, or during times when Rencal negotiates with other deities from other worlds over world-hopping Illiadians. Let's just say, his marvelous snacks often helped seal some especially tough deals with especially headstrong deities. Kerkis' token ability is "Chef's Touch", which allows the user to cook flawless food and snacks for the duration of when it's active.
12 - Grand Countess of Healing, Redika
Contrast-Element: Daylight
Gender: Female
Protegé(s): ???
Redika is considered the patron of ceremonial healers and doctors, making her very popular among these professions. She's often beeing prayed to before especially tough surgeries, and thanked after. Worth noting of her is that she actually taught the ancient Karrin of Illiad how to use Ena to heal the wounds of other people, spreading healing Ena-techniques over the world. She's considered extremely compassionate and loving, always ready to give a hand to those that need to be cured of something. Due to her often beeing depicted with pearl jewelry, likely because of the way her wings and halo look, she often is refered to as the "Mender that is Pure as Pearl ". Her token ability is "Healing Sunlight", a much stronger version of the "Healing Shine" ability that most Ena-users can use. It can heal most wounds, even if thex'd usually be mortal, as well as any illness. It's basically shadow-walker tears without the revival-ability.
Edit 31.Dec.2018: Changed the names of the Ena-Types to their new terms (Light -> Daylight, Darkness -> Moonlight, Penumbra -> Starlight)
