1: For those of you who might recall that I was making a video game... Yes, we're still working on it. Yes, we're making progress. I literally have gigabytes of art assets done. And now I can add programming (badly) to my resume.
2: This is in game, in engine, with collisions, depth sorting, tile move targets, fading interior triggers, and clickable animated characters. It's real and I can touch it. The Torque Game Builder is a beautiful thing.
3: Coding is hard. But I learn quick.
4: If my personal art output starts going down, this is why.

Torque Game Builder? it's $100. http://www.garagegames.com/developer/torque/t2d/
Note that my art for the game isn't created with Torque Game Builder, it's created with Photoshop.

Did they add it recently? I mean, when I was reading forums a couple of months back it was all "how do I do ISO?" "You can't yet, not without pro."
I should reinstall it now that my new system is up. Hey, who knows, maybe they actually went and fixed the tutorials so you aren't reading documentation mixed through 5 different versions without any notice of which code is which... c.c
I'm not grumpy. Nope, not me. But damnit, those Platformer tutorials are such pants once you get to the more complex parts.

It's fairly recent, with 1.4. I'm a bit unclear as to whether it requires the Torque Adventure Kit, I don't think it does. At any rate, it's depth sorting in the level builder, so it's easy as pie. The tutorials are by no means perfect, there's still a lot of broken code, stuff that's out of date, but they're getting better. It's sorta the indie code, you just keep banging away until stuff starts working. I've been playing with T2D only for a few weeks, so I haven't had to deal with the old beta releases. I've learned more by experimenting and poking at code than by following the tutorials proper.
I'm semi working on a platformer hybrid [or was, until I started working on my exams again so I can graduate and get it over with] and was going through the tutorials for them; I figured, why reinvent hot water and maybe do it wrong when I can learn from the expererience of those that know the ins and outs alredy.
Ahwell. Hopefully someone'll've ironed them out a bit by the time I get back into it. It's a great piece of kit otherwise. :)
