There are stories told among villagers near the Texcoco lake about the Nahual. A creature with dark shape-shifting powers that roams through the jungle at night, sometimes assuming the form of a jaguar, stalking those who stray away from their path, ready to feast on their fear. Among the animals, some say Tleyotl Sun of Dusk was the jaguar that inspired that legend.
That is at least what they say, tales are often exaggerated, but he must have gained that reputation somehow. But deep inside, under all that muscle and fur, there's still a good heart waiting to be rekindled. After all, Tleyotl means "flaming heart" in Nahuatl.
He also happens to be Coatl's biological father, but he has never met his son. No male jaguar ever does.
