this comic...
even before it ended, somewhere around page 180, when I found it first... I had been hiding in the shadows of the fandom for 15 years, never been in a relationship, and this comic gave me the courage to step up and ask life for one, thinking maybe there was a Derek out there that could help me, be a mentor, etc.
When it started to go... sideways, from what a lot of people expected, it hurt, because I was pretty identified with Spot through a lot of it, but I appreciated the "real-ness" of it.
Now, life is imitating art, and what I found, is "complicated" - it did not end in bitterness or animosity, but it was unstable and had to end... there is still some unresolved emotion floating around, but this comic is STILL helping me deal with a side of life that I had until recently thought myself incapable of.
Thank you, Kim, from the bottom of my heart, for what you've given me through this work.

There are a lot of ways this could have gone, and it didnt go any of the ways that I was afraid of xD Great job fam. There are a lot of lessons to learn from this that people on this website need to understand. (also props for making Derek bottom/Matt a bottom. Counter stereotypes are A++)
