This was a great SoL comic with full of emotions, good and bad choices and realistic character's who's are not stereotypes and even Matthew have a character development to to the end.
This comic is not focus to the sex or every character is to lie together and thats why TGW is out of the rest of the other SoL comics ( especially above Choices pfahhhhh ). Although so I have a little lack of sense, i really wanted to see how Scott get a boyfiend to himself.
I give a 9/10 to this comic! Great job Kimm

Slice of Life ! SoL is the abbreviated expression of those animes and mangas whats are present the everyday life of the characters. Example Gin no Saji, Watamote, ReLIFE, Barakamon, Nichijou, NANA, Usagi Drop, Working!, Chihayafuru, 3-gatsu no Lion etc just to mention only the best examples ^^ .

PRobably gunna splurge on words here but:
I love this comic in it's entirety. The drawing is fabulous, the characters are well written, the plot isn't cookie-cutter and the whole thing reads well. All of the aforementioned is present, in spite of the fact that the author-illustrator isn't a pro artist, mainly anglophone, or a professional author.
The best part by far is the story, which had me laughing, crying and feeling complex emotion. The story was something one can empathize with, if one has had trouble with being gay at a younger age. The plot holds one gripped close for every page, hoping things will get better when they never do. It isn't a "happy ending" story so much as it is REAL. Shit happens in it, no one wins, but life moves on. And when life moves on, so does hatred, and this story tells life like it is: harsh but rewarding to the patient. I love it.

Hmm.. It is heavily realistic of an ending. Derek dates someone, even matt and the girl move on.. But I guess, despite like I said, it is HEAVILY real, I am a bit sad Scott didn't find anyone. Where I can see him easily being too torn up, even over three years, to really go out of his way to try and date someone, I am just a bit disappointed. But it does make this ending feel more alive. So despite that, it is super believable. Good work.
And we have a title!
Seriously though, the thing I love about webcomics like these is seeing how the artist grows and change over the course of the comic's run. The fact that this started in 2012 is crazy to me (or like yesterday to you depending on how you perceive time), and looking back at that first chapter and watching your art improve from passable/mediocre to an honestly unique and appealing style has been wonderful.
Also the fact that you managed to get to the end at all is an achievement! So many artists begin a project, but either lose interest over time or something happens and the project gets abandoned. I once heard it said that artists get very familiar and comfortable with beginning a thing, but not with ending it because of the aforementioned reasons. So congrats on having a full completed project, and I look forward to following your future artistic endeavors!

Feels weird seeing this comic finished, I think it was one of the first comic I've seen back then when I discovered the furry fandom. I can't remember exactly when it was, probably between 2013 and 2014? can't believe i've been reading this comic since 4 years already x3
Not a lot of artist can pretend owning a 200+ pages comic, most of them barely can finish a 15 pages comic so.. i'd say you've done a great job, that in terms of content but the story too. More of all thank you for having done this comic :3

Love the art style first of all. I feel like I missed the relationship part of Mike and Derek, they just ended up together...like one minute set up by mutual friend then Scott incident happend (or while it happend) add a time lapse now they're a thing. Idk feels like I missed the emotion between them..so feels meh to me. But all good things come to an end and I've enjoyed this story for a long while now, so thanks for sharing and all your hard work!
Depois de anos, está tudo disponível no www.douglas-kim.com agora :B
Oh look, the title was mentioned in the story.
*cue credits*
But really as much as it was sad to see how the climax ended, it was a realistic ending and that enough is great. Even if things did end eell in court for the two, it might have had some bad moments afterwards since everyone then knew they were an item. I dont have much else to say that other havent already said, but imnglad I followed this comic to the end.

Really hard to believe this comic is over. First thing I must say though is I love how your art style improved from the very beginning up to now, the realism in this made it feel unique and not just your run of the mill comic that follows a plot that's been beaten to death. I'm extremely happy I found this comic and I know I wont be forgetting this one anytime soon
It truly was a touching story. As for criticism i don't really have any. The story works, and got me emotionally invested in the story and characters , which is kinda rare for me. It was also a pleasure and an inspiration to see your art grow with every chapter. Hopefully we get to see how the characters are doing every once in a while.
The end was beautiful. You tied things up nicely. The criticisms I had in the past still stand for the most part in fairness. I feel like some times you are writing to get a reaction from your audience and pander to what you think furries want to so and my advice to you is, don't do that! Write for you. Make what you want to see and believe me, an audience will come. There is nothing better that a story told by someone who loves that story. At first it may or may not get attention but what you gain in the long run is so much better.
Your new project took such an overly shock value turn and there were places in here that headed that way too, but I don't think that's really you. This however, these last few pages of Golden week, they feel like they are genuine, and that is why they are so good. They really are a good ending to the story and add a great sense of closure while actually leaving the character's lives open and uncertain, which is very real and a very mature sort of ending.
So in short, great work XD

First, praise: I am so proud of you that you finished this story. As well as watching your art evolve from first page to last. From what I can tell, you've stayed on track with scheduled posting, even more amazing, it was on your own terms.
Second, opinion: How I feel about the story overall, was a slight suspension drama that left me guessing page after page. How I feel about the ending is mixed, this isn't a bad or good ending, but it's closure at least, a bitter sweet. Scott's lies ultimately did made everything worse, and he admits to it, and I can see why he felt the need to lie.
Third, critique: The only real concerns I have had with this story was two things, one of them being story related, one for the art.
I may be bias on the art aspect, but I will say their were three phases in how I think you approached the characters. What I'm getting at is the consistency between parts. I understand why this was, but new readers may find this off putting. My concern with the story was on page 128, who was that call to? Even though I have a good guess on who it is. I still want to know why Derek called and what happened.
Other than that, I still love this comic. Thank you very much for sharing it, and I hope I can see great things from you!

Hey there! I stumbled on your profile a while back because one of your other comics and when I knew I'd have to come back for your other stuff.
Today I finally got around to reading this one and let me tell you I wasn't expecting to get so hooked into it! I binged it all in one go!
It was oddly satisfying seeing the progress in art style as I kept reading. I gotta say your your art was already amazing then, but the effort and passion you put into this really shows!
The story and characters were also really incredible! I wasn't expecting the characters to be so relatable! I don't usually stumble around stories around here.
The ending is very bittersweet, but I don't think it could have ended better.
Thanks for the comic!
Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff in the future! ^^

So, I just spent a good two or three hours reading through this story, and I must commend you on your ability to spin a tale.
Thank you for this wonderful gift to the community. I'm not gay personally but learnt a lot reading this comic, and loved all the different characters motivations, and the consequences they had.

I didn't read the Entire comic just part V onward which I probably should start reading comics in order lol (though thats because that part was the first one I found at the time) but Damn this comic was an emotional roller coaster I was looking up comics to fap to (I use this account mostly for fap purposes I have a secret account that avoids anything even remotely sexual, but I digress) Never have I ever come for a comic to fap only to stay the entire way through for the ride of emotions I teared up so much. It sucks what happened to Scott and Derek and I'm glad Derek moved on but reading this made me empathize with Scott, he looked a bit dead inside and still single to boot ;-; he's also probably jealous too of Mike cuz the character that Scott appears to be is gay but possibly only for Derek and now seeing that one person with someone else.... FUCK... I wish there was at least a sequel for Scott to see him rise up from this depressing (yet well written) conclusion of his. This isn't some review or critique of the story this is just my rambling, though I really wanna see scott gets his own mini comic at least to get him up and see how his relation with Derek is like despite seeing someone else now........... (I'm only using this account to emphasize that I initially came to read comics to fap so thats why I'm not using my "PG" account)
.................... I'm not crying.... YOU'RE CRYING!! .... ;-;

I started and ended reading the entire comic just today. I am REALLY shocked, because I wanted so bad to things go well between Derek and Scott... I'm so sad that Derek got prison time and they didn't form a couple... and... this ends like this? I can't be... there's gotta be a progression to this story...

My thoughts = The whole court things has some illegal issues with it, technically this would have been alot better if the jury wasn't a bunch of biased lies, like honesty that's what happend. Matt told them everything, and still, like I can't believe that's justice, like I got soo mad because it was so wrong. Honestly I was thinking this would have actually turn out okay if it had when the other way. Also technically they are not pedos because he was not under 16 // 18 depending on what the age of concent is and because he was only interested in Spot not all children xd. But it turned out kinda good, tho drick did get with the Russian guy I though he would have shaved // been hotter by now. It's 3am and I was planing on going to sleep at 12am xd so yea. The ending was nice // total bullshit but eh what can I say, my desires were not forfilled. Great job btw. Lol I get why you titled this 'The Golden Week' lol. Thanks

Obrigado

Found out about TGW on deviantart, I'm really glad I came all this way to FA just to read it entirely. I gotta admit, some pages gave me chuckles due to the american culture approach you tried (I'm not american either lol) still it got better over time that's for sure! Now reading this last page I totally get Scott, times flies by even when things are though and everyone find their own paths. I hope Scott finds someone who loves him for who he is.
