A while back, Hunterbahamut asked me to make a plushie of his character Gene: http://hunterbahamut.deviantart.com...../Gene-24810108
and... after what was entirely too long, I finally buckled down and finished him. I would have finished him sooner, but the pattern i used to use went missing and i had to make a new one from scratch. this one's a bit larger than the old one, so i'll have to modify it at some point.
He stands about 20 inches tall (22 if you count his ears).
The body wasn't that much of a challenge, and only took me an evening to sew, but the head required a complete re-doing, since the first one was too small, and made him look like a fraggle. which was a shame since i'd already sewn on his hair and eyes. (it's rather horrifying, decapitating a character you've rp-ed with, and pulling out his hair and eyes.) aah but he looks much better for it, so i'm pleased.
His body's made of regular Fleece, eyes are seed-beads, hair is cross-stitch thread (two different shades), the band around his tail is a strip of leather that i bought while i was in Belize (originally it had a bone-tooth on it, but that has since been lost.), pants and shirt are regular cotton, as are his paw wrappings. accents like belts and buckles were made with felt, and the bottoms of his sandals are foam. his necklace is also made from cross-stitche thread and a small bead.
Over all he probably took between 6 and 10 hours to complete, and i'm rather pleased with the result.
With a lot of luck i'll be able to hand deliver him, as well.
