So, the plushies decided to have a D&D game without me. Loki the coyote is playing the rogue (typical), Sonja the arctic fox chose cleric, Faolan the wolf chose fighter, and Tucker decided to go wizard. All the while Zurda the Fennec plots the adventurers' demise as the Dungeon Master.

I could see that 5E went back to 3/3.5E some but still had some new stuff, instead of having circumstance bonuses and penalties, there's advantage and disadvantage which I find pretty unique, but I think that's more of something they added for simplicity. 5E is definitely great for people just getting into D&D since it's a bit simpler doesn't require as much calculating as 3/3.5E.
